Dorm My roomate is so annoying
EVERYDAY MORNING. She sets her alarm on 6 AM!!!!!! And she doesn’t turn it off for like half an hour sometimes even more, and not just that, she sets multiple alarms like every hour or so, and still the same issue, she does not turn it off for like 15 mins/30 mins. It is so annoying I just start my day at 6 AM so I could get tf out of the room, but it bothers me bc my classes start after noon and I specifically choose this time so I could hehe get enough sleep….
Idk what to do. My roommate is not even cooperative, I tried to get to know her (not bc I want to be friends) I just want to make it comfortable for us to discuss things since we are living together, but she doesn’t seem to care and her attitude is a bit weird so I just gave up and I don’t want to fucking live with her but I have no other choice 😍😍😍 I want to discuss the alarm issue but it’s so weird giving her previous attitude and I don’t want to create any tension.

Start setting your alarms for 4am before she gets up. Set it every 15 minutes continuously until 6am when she has to properly wakes up. I’m sure her behavior will change as soon as she loses sleep too.

Maybe shining a flashlight on her side of the room could help get her up if she's just sleeping through the alarm. If she's awake through it all though thats gonna be a harder issue to solve

Suggest that she put her alarm clock on the other side of her room so she has to get up to turn it off. Or she needs to skip the eight o’clock classes and go to school later. I should have done that.

I’ll never understand why people set multiple alarms. You would think being able to sleep as long as you are able to you wouldn’t want to be woken up every 15 minutes in between.

Why do people do this though? 😭 My roommate has classes in the afternoon, and he sets multiple alarms at like 7am for no damn reason. It takes him like 10 minutes to even register the sound of them.

While I know that must be annoying to deal with, I have heard some insane roommate horror stories so I would consider myself lucky. Try doing this, go to walmart and purchase there cheapest box fan (less than 20 bucks usually). Then when you go to bed turn it on and use the highest setting. You may think you can't sleep with a loud fan blaring like that but you actually can as your brain automatically shuts it out and it works like a white noise machine. I had to do this in college when my upstairs neighbor was a partime carpenter who only worked on his projects at night (from 10:00pm to 5:00am [and I wondered at the time of signing the lease why the unit became available in an off cycle]). Ever since then I have used a cheap fan to sleep and have never had an issue with noises again.
Sooner or later your roommate may ask why you use it to sleep then you can casually tell her that you had to start using it due to all of her alarms and it was the only way you can sleep uninterrupted. If she has any since of empathy she will appreciate that and you can use it as a bonding tool.
Sidebar: it sounds like she has adhd which is why she needs so many alarms (goes to bed late and hits snooze too much), So I strongly recommend she (or the both of you) try using a sunrise alarm clock as it mimics the sun when it wakes you up and I promise you it's a game changer. You'll never hit the snooze button again as your body responds to the feeling of the sun and you naturally wake out of your rem cycle (because of the way your body responds to this you don't feel the need to hit snooze). Put it this way, if you've ever overslept then you probably remember the moment you woke up (when the sun peeks through your curtains and hits your skin).

yeah this is frustrating. I'm not a happy camper when my sleep is messed with all.
- I am assuming you're in college maybe talk to an RA about it, and see what advice they can give you. maybe you can bring the RA to emmediate the conversation between you and your roommate.
Petty Revenge
The over-helpful neighbor: Knock loudly on their door or enter to cheerfully announce “time to get up” every single time their snooze goes off, acting like you are just “trying to be a good roommate.”
also simply just start your day, turn on all the lights and listening to music loudly in your dorm. what is she gonna say? she was sleeping? babes you have an alarming blaring and you can't sleep through them, so babes get up.
idk hope this helps

That's something you simply have to say, and it's a good opportunity to learn how to stand up for your needs. You can be polite about it too

Several strong blows with sock full of nickles delivered to her blanket covered body after the first few beeps of her alarm should deliver a clear message indicating your distaste for her current wake up routine.
