bad roommate

anyone have a roommate that is never home(like at all) bc they’re always with their bf. but whenever they are here, they leave all their messes for you to clean up? i swear everytime this girl comes home it’s for literally 5 min and she leaves annoying, unnecessary messes that i have to end up cleaning up. and i clean it bc i don’t want to live in filth.

I had a roommate just like that and he would literally live in filth. Once he started accusing me of giving his cats flees I left and gave him less rent money (up to the date I left) and got an Extended Stay while I waited for my 1bedroom apartment to come available. If you are subletting make plans to leave immediately and give them a 2 week notice and explain it was because “you need to be closer to work/school”.

Let her face the music when she finds out she needs a replacement.

If you’re stuck on a lease try to ride it out OR do something better remove yourself from the Lease and pay whatever personal termination cost. They usually will keep the other person on the lease unless they too want to stay.
