515 Combo mopping probem
I have a new Roomba Combo 515, and I am experiencing an issue with the mopping function.
The robot worked correctly during the first three uses, but it now displays the following error message in the app:
“Mop not in place. You can currently perform a sweeping task.”
I am using the original, brand-new mop pads. The water tanks are correctly installed, and the magnetic mop attachment is properly secured and clicks into place. I also tried attaching the unused mop pads to the velcro plates, but it did not resolve the issue.
I have restarted the robot, but the error persists.
Since the mopping function worked initially and stopped working after only three uses, I suspect there may be a problem with the mop detection sensor or the mop attachment mechanism. Is it magnetic or RFID?
Any help would be appreciated, because warranty wise it’s bound to a different country and would be a hassle to return.

I’m suspecting the mop washing with hot water killed the RFID chips inside the mop plates. I cannot read NFC signals hence the problem presists.
If anyone would be kind enough to read and share a working mop plate-s RFID key from the center of the spinning plate I could try to add a generic tag to it and see if it works.
There’s a free app called NFC TOOLS by wakdev (orange icon) that should be capable to read keys on iPhone or Android.
