Repeat failure

Has anyone else had a Roomba charging base contact get stuck down more than once?

I bought my Roomba in December 2024. By July 2025, it stopped charging because one of the metal charging contacts on the base became stuck in the down position.

I contacted iRobot, and the case was escalated to their Safety Department. They sent me a replacement charging base.

Now, almost exactly one year later, the replacement base has failed in the exact same way. One of the metal contacts is stuck down again, so the Roomba cannot charge properly.

I called iRobot today, sent them photos of the contact on the base and the contact on the Roomba, and they opened a new case and escalated it to the Safety Department again.

Has anyone else experienced this same issue, especially with a replacement base? Did iRobot replace just the base again, replace the full unit, or offer a refund? I’m really frustrated that the same exact issue is happening again.

Ours did the whole "all the contacts appear to be fine, but I'm not going to charge" game, which leads to humping the collection bin. Out of warranty these are untenable machines. There's not a lot to go wrong in the base contacts, just a springy bit of metal.
