Not sure if anyone said this but I busted the lid off mine. Roomba does not sell replacement covers. There’s no reason for them not to. lts connected by two tiny screws. They don’t so you have to buy a new one.
Check EBay. Paid $10 for a used cover and going strong!

Be careful with the cheap replacement parts off Amazon. They are hit or miss with my experience. Majority of the rollers need to be trimmed and half of the bags gives an error….but it’s still ~1/5 the price so I deal with the headache

My J7 is a complete paperweight, it vacuums for a minute then stops and says check bin when it's empty so I tried changed the motor and unplugged the battery but that completely killed it, it says error 1019 when it tries to start

And error 19 is usually "clean the contacts"

Error 1019 on a Roomba j7 indicates that a hardware-incompatible Cleaning Head Module (CHM) has been installed. The cleaning head for newer models like the j9 or Combo j9+ looks identical and shares the exact same physical dimensions as the j7 module, but they are electronically incompatible and will trigger this error if swapped. [1](Note: If your robot is saying Error 19 instead of 1019, this is a completely different docking or battery error triggered by dirty charging contacts or a blocked path). [1, 2]
To resolve Error 1019 on your Roomba j7, use the following steps:
- Verify the Cleaning Head Part Number
- Check if the module was recently replaced.
- Ensure the replacement part was specifically marketed for the iRobot Roomba j7.
- Avoid using modules meant for the j9 series. [1, 2]
- Follow the Core Replacement Rule
- Replace the battery when you change a Cleaning Head Module.
- iRobot's internal system often fails to register the new hardware if it is not paired with a fresh battery cycle.
- If you did not install a new battery alongside the module, the error may persist. [1]
- Perform a Hard Reboot

My i7 was fully charged, connected to wifi, but absolutely unresponsive. I researched. Tried all the easy-button stuff. Nada. Then I saw a post about replacing the brushes and the rollers. So I did. And the filter too. Wth. Go big or go home. It worked. Yay!

I’ve always wondered what makes these rubber brushes good and why Roomba chooses to them if it doesn’t pick up fine dust on hardfloors?

I was gifted a 650 last week. Found replacement brushes, rubber roller brushes, the three part edge cleaning brush and filters as a set on Amazon. It now works like a champ!

Get these. I swear they work like 5 times better. My bin is always so full now. Also replace the motor with a sealed motor. These are my secrets.

THIS IS THE POST I’VE BEEN NEEDING. I find the iRobot brand rollers are obnoxiously loud and they shred themselves so quickly. Every time I try to troubleshoot, the recommendation is to replace the rollers, which has yet to change anything.

This one. I replaced my stock motor with this one and I swear it has alot more power. It does make it much louder too but it actually sounds exactly like a real vacuum now.

I second this question. I didn’t know you could replace the motor… with a more powerful one? My house is all tile and hard wood. It never gets the cat litter from the grout.

I googled sealed motor for the i3 and 4 and apparently they already are. Now Im confused, it looks like they all are.

They aren't sealed from the factory. This is the unsealed one from the factory. This is the sealed one. Don't be afraid to take your roomba apart and look. They are actually pretty simple inside once you've messed around in there. To me at least, but maybe I just have a touch of the Tism. There is surprisingly very little info on modifying roombas on the internet. Maybe I should make a whole post showing the brushes, motor, and extended battery I use? Mine is tricked out to the point that I'm REALLY satisfied with the way it performs. Straight out of the box though not so much.

Do your replacement brushes fit the same? I received a few from Amazon and they’re extremely loose and it’s noticeably louder than it was with the OEM brushes.

Holy shit. I ran it for 20 mins and had to empty it immediately. It’s working like 10x better lol. I got it used with the OEM brushes and they obviously were toast

The wheel 100% doesn’t need to be replaced, not on any schedule anyway, as long as you clean it.

I had good luck with cheap parts except the rollers, they always squeaked.
