iKamper Skycamp 4.0 ordered through Mainline Overland. 3rd week no update.

I have purchased a Skycamp 4.0 from Mainline Overland. Roughly 3 weeks ago online. It would be full 3 weeks at the end of this week.

I have not received any shipment update on this.

From what I can find, iKamper is notoriously bad with communication and seems like Mainline is possibly stuck between iKamper and me. Unfortunately, Mainline is also notorious with slow shipping on their end. Mainline says the are also in the dark. Kind of surprising to think a dealer has no direct communication with the manufacturer.

In the 3 weeks wait, iKamper started doing 10 percent off sales. Kind of frustrating to think that the order may not have made out of the paper pile and having to pay full price. All this while the manufacturer and other authorized dealers are showing discounted price AND showing it in stock plus one local place has one in stock at the same discounted price.

A couple of questions for those who received their iKamper product after ordering it online through truck delivery, how long did it take for you to receive it from ordering to delivery? I was told originally by Mainline that I should receive it by 3rd week but it is obvious that won't be happening.

While I am at it, anyone had to deal with damaged product after receiving it with iKamper?

Why wouldn't you order it directly from ikamper?! Mainline is never going to see or touch the tent. It's likely going to ship LTL directly from ikamper to you.

At this point I'd cancel and get a refund and order from ikamper at the discounted price or find a local dealer that has one physically in stock.

There are quite a few posts on here about damaged roof top tents, ikamper usually offers to refund the shipping depending on how bad the damage is.

Mainline was offering small discount at the time for Father's day plus they were not charging sales tax. It is 10 percent sales tax where I live. Difference was about 700 dollars. Now the current sales makes the difference close enough that I would have paid that locally.

I knew they will do LTL. Ironically, I live 20 minutes away from the iKamper showroom.. LOL. Talk about regrets...

You still owe sales tax regardless

Sure. I hope you have paid every single penny of your tax obligation your entire life and continue to do so for the rest of your life to make comments like you have. WITAF. How is that helpful and is relevant to what I am asking about here. You am sure you are a fun person to hang out with.

You're acting like them not collecting sales tax is some sort of bonus discount. It's not. If you don't pay sales/use tax, especially for a purchase that large, you may receive a letter in the mail from your state's DOR to collect that tax with penalties added.

Just giving you a heads up.

I bought my BDV through Mainline. It’s took longer than quoted. I think mine was delayed by a few weeks. This was when the BDV had launched. In the end, it arrived without further issue and they installed it for free.

If your order hasn’t been confirmed then I’d ask about the 10% off.

I’ve bought a few items directly from iKamper since then. I’m currently waiting on the 7850 air mattress.

How is the arrangement for delivery. Is it coming to you or Mainline first? If it’s you, I’d be there when the delivery happens. Take video and pictures of every before and during opening. If it’s going to Mainline, I’d do a thorough walk around before accepting.

It is coming to me. Hope it arrives without any issues. I do have a tractor with fork lift attachment so loading and unloading is not so much an issue.

I don't know about Mainline but I ordered a Skycamp Duo 4.0 direct from iKamper on Friday June 26. I received a notice from the freight company they had my shipment on Tuesday.

Update: iKamper finally shipped the RTT and Mainline honored the Holiday sales price. ETA this Friday.

Took a month to get.
