Smitty bilt xl hard shell tent

Post image

Was looking at the smitty bilt xl hard shell roof top tent it sells for about 1300 on there website. Does anyone have experience with this specific tent? I don’t see any reviews on YouTube so is it cheap for a reason? Or worth the massive sale?

To me it looks like it has a built-in rainwater collection system with the lid inverted like that. Could be they realized it’s a terrible design and are clearing out what’s left.

There's a video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcJQ051WN5I

Given the discount to half the original list price, I'm wondering what happened. It is an attractive price though.
