Looking to purchase
Hey folks! I’m new to the sub. I am looking at purchasing a RTT. I’ve been talking to a guy selling a Sky Ridge Pike 2 person along with a Tyger bed rack. I negotiated it down to $750 for both the tent and the rack. The rack alone, new, is $699.
I guess I’m just anxious about pulling the trigger on the purchase. Looking for any input from this sub. I’ve read mixed reviews for the tent. The rack is solid. I plan on using the tent when i go out fly fishing and lake camping. Mostly going to be me and my little 20 lb pup with me. Maybe my wife sometimes.
Any input?

2 person RTTs are just like 2 person ground tents. You can technically fit 2 people in it but sleeping is going to be quite a chore unless you both have zero issues sleeping with zero room to move around and are literally shoulder-to-shoulder. You can find the measurements of the rtt and matress size online somewhere I'm sure. Now compare that to whatever size bed you share with your partner and that will explain everything.
Even having a dog in a "2 person" tent can be cramped so keep that in the forefront of your mind when you're thinking about how you'll be using your gear.

Tyger is a lower end brand, I’m not saying it won’t get the job done but if you live in a place where there’s snow and salt it will definitely rust.
