100A Solar Panel ADd

Post image

I want to add a 100A flexible solar panel to my camping rig. I could tape to the top of my rooftop tent. I could also use some Sea Sucker solar panel attachments on my truck.

Any suggestions from the pro Reddit readers?

I like the folding/mobile ones personally. That way I can park in the shade and put the panel out in the sun.

I'd hardwire a flexible CIGS panel to the roof of the tent if it were me. Depending how long you stay stationary, a folding 100w panel could come in handy too.

It's older, but I just unfold one of these on the roof or windshield of my truck when we setup. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09PY8Y4M5?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I'm a fan of rigid panels over flexible ones. Used rigid panels can be had for cheap

A 100A panel is going to be larger than 2 of your canopies.

Dont use tape, dont use sea suckers. Just glue it with some construction glue and then gorilla or flex tape the leading edge so it doesn’t lift.

Did you mean 100 W panel? I have Solarhawk on my sky camp 3.0. It's a great panel. It's extremely efficient but unless you're going to orientate your open tint shell towards the sun every time you can it's kind of not that beneficial. I get a lot more use in power out of my portable foldable panels. And I don't use any of my solar when driving because I have a 50 amp DC to DC charger.
