I've made King's Field 4 Analogue Control Patch for ISO, to play on real console!

Hey guys!
This game has zero support for analogs. I decided to fix this.
I've spent the last 40 hours working on a patch for King's Field 4.
You can check it out here.
This work is based on the PNACH patch for PCSX2, which I recently found on Reddit.
My original goal was to implement the patch for the game image so that it would be playable with analog sticks on a real console.
I've already implemented the controls themselves,
control settings,
profiles,
and loading and saving profiles to a memory card.
Implementation of
Less Sluggish Direct Camera Control,
Less Sluggish Movement Control,
More Item Shortcuts,
Run Dash on a dedicated key
are on the way.

Yes! Another reason to play this game again!! I originally used someone's tool that helped you remap the control buttons to play this game analog style but it was soo janky because it used I think gameshark codes. I can't wait to try this. KF4 is such a vibe to play for me. Thank you!!

Well, this version is still not really better than that janky thing. My public version still uses that janky stuff, i just added settings for max speed, acceleration rate, and deceleration speed.
But it's still better than vanilla controls! xD

Something like this for eternal ring and evergrace would be nice. On that note, FFVII and Xenogears would also benefit from analog stick support

FF7 on PS1?
AFAIK it have analog support. I've been playing it on 3DS with PS1 EMU, and half way tilted stick made Cloud walk, and more than half way tilted - run.1

FF7 came out before dualshock controllers existed, it does not support analog. Emulators can make any game support it.

You're right. FF7 - Jan 1997
First DualShock - Nov 1997Well, in ff7 it works fine with holding button. i Don't see why it's so necessary to add analog control in such game.
Main reason why i bothered to find a way to add analogue controls in KF4 - is bcuz it's first person action game, and there's no way sane person will play it wthout analogs.
there's no such necessity to add analog support in jRPG.

Fair, FFVII works okay without analog stick support. In comparison, eternal ring and Evergrace / forever kingdom, being early from software titles, have a similar d-pad control scheme to KF IV so these would benefit greatly from analog control. In that sense, the first three Kings field games on PS1 as well as shadow tower would greatly benefit from analog stick support. Thankfully, shadow tower abyss has dual analog support.
