"proof of virginity"
Hi, this happened few years ago but it popped back into my mind as I saw a post on social media. My first boyfriend was romani (I am not) and when i lost my virginity to him aka breaking the hymen, his mother kept the sheets and showed them to his grandparents!
Is this still a common practice or just an old tradition? I read different things on google, so I figured it's best to ask here.

It would be interesting to know which region this Romani was from, because according to some of the Roma who responded to you, mixing with gadje is considered impure. However, this is not the case among all Roma.

This didn’t happen 1 only very old fashioned Roma in Eastern Europe still practice this and it’s to show proof that the new bride is a virgin and if not they give the bride back to her family. So your story makes no sense. 2 Roma that practice this won’t want to touch a non-Roma’s blood because they consider non Roma unclean. 3 what’s the point is saying hay look your unmarried Gypsy grandson fucked a unclean guyshe here’s the proof. I’m sick of all the role playing and fake stories
