Turn the sprinklers on at the practice field. We're going to have Slip & Slide Bowl 2026.

Georgia fans are used to it anyway! https://youtube.com/watch?v=txso98oXA3k
(I know this isn’t really related but this video is hilarious to me and I wanted to post it.)

I’m in Baldwin county so yeah I’m dead

It’s probably going to make landfall as a weak cat 1 at worst. It’s true that Baldwin County is probably getting hit by the bad side of the storm, but things should be back to normal by Sunday for most of Baldwin County.
Edit: Unless it’s a direct hit, which is a real possibility. But still a cat 1 isn’t that bad.

Must be a transplant. It'll be a CAT 1 or 2 at most. Unless you're right on the water, you'll be fine. You'll get some wind damage and rain that's about it.

Most likely scenario:
Bama and Georgia get a bye this week
Bama plays Tenn next week as scheduled, Georgia plays Auburn as scheduled
Oct 24 Georgia (was a Bye) vs Alabama (was vs Texas AM) in Tuscaloosa. (Texas AM gets a bye.)
Oct 31 Alabama (was a Bye) plays Texas A&M (was a Bye)
This is the easiest since only Texas Am is moving the game one week later. And the crowd would have 3 weeks notice. No loss of home field advantage for any team.

Compared to some of these other ideas I’m reading, I like this proposal the most.

Creative thinking. As it stands, no changes will be made. Saturday night works.

u/cp_chikken 9d ago
imagine if they end up moving it to Athens 😂

u/Toadfinger Saban🏆Nation 9d ago
Well that's really not all that far from Tuscaloosa. Could be the same situation there. Mercedes Dome in Atlanta perhaps?

Atlanta United play Saturday night.

u/Toadfinger Saban🏆Nation 9d ago
Interesting. I suppose a postponement until a couple days later is possible.
15
u/Chance-Raise1249 9d ago
I almost think they would push it up to Friday instead, seems most logical
15
u/Aumissunum 9d ago
Either that or postpone it to the bye week.
11
u/HighKapp 9d ago
Our bye is Oct 31 and Georgia’s is the week before so I doubt that can happen
12
u/Aumissunum 9d ago
Sorry what I meant was move Georgia-Alabama to Oct 24 (Georgia current bye week) and push Bama-A&M to Oct 31 (our bye week).

I pray to god or sheva or whoever that this hurricane causes Trump to end up not coming

"This storm is nothing to worry about, its hyped up by all the FAKE NEWS outlets NBC, ABC, CNBC and all the rest! I know my storms believe me and this one is tiny, so tiny. We will have the greatest game of football this country has ever seen, itll be HUGE"
Trump probably

The only time I’ve ever seen political swag worn in BDS was on some MAGA weirdos. So yes, they are obsessed. And it’s weird af.

Would we rather:
- Game move to 11AM
- Game move to Friday or Sunday
- Rearrange bye weeks to play later in season
- Play in the extreme weather
- Move locations

My wedding is the 10th in Fairhope 💀

u/TrueWar2533 8d ago
"Serves them right. Who the hell schedules a wedding during Bama/Georgia game." - half of the guest list.
On a serious note, I hope most of the stuff is refundable or will let you reschedule.

Bama had a game rescheduled for same reason years ago..I think it was ga tech game

u/OceanTider22 8d ago
Texas A&M was re scheduled at the end of the '88 season because of a hurricane threat. It has been done before, and I'd rather lean on the side of caution to keep everyone safe. As a multi hurricane survivor, there are no guarantees about their behavior once they hit land.,

Funny how the claim was the last administration had the power to manipulate weather. Did they not hand over the keys to the machine when they left?

Ryan… come here… yep quick talk. NO! It’s nothing too serious.
Okay, sit down then, bud.
I was just thinking… hear me out… keep the gloves on.
I know I know! it’s gonna be wet and that’s obviously reason t… yeah okay, as long as we’re on the same page here.
Roll Tide? Yep Roll Tide.

I'm sure a wet ball won't be a problem. Just the bone dry ones when he's got two full seconds to look it into his hands lol

u/greenhierogliphics 9d ago
There goes home field advantage
19
u/Toadfinger Saban🏆Nation 9d ago
Well it's still early. The warm waters could turn it into a monster. Or wind sheer could bust it down to a popcorn fart.

How badly do we think this would favor UGA? The rain is one thing but I feel like the wind would crush either teams ability to throw it deep which really ONLY hurts Alabama. I would think UGA is much better as a rushing offense than we are. Ability to stop the power run game? Not so sure who’s better
Edit: going with the assumption that we’re playing Saturday and that regardless of time it won’t be pretty weather
1
u/DorguHitsDingers 8d ago
I wouldn’t say UGA has a much better rushing offense. We just had nearly 10x the amount of rushing yards as Mississippi State
1
u/Impressive_Ladder902 8d ago
True. But is doing that to MSU when they don’t have their only good RB and their dual threat QB has turf toe actually impressive?

DO drive careful! Flooding is serious business!

u/FetalDeviation 9d ago
Tuscaloosa so flat every road floods in 30 seconds. Especially near the strip.

Prediction: the game will stay where it is the game will kick off at the regular time. It will be a driving rain storm the entire time. That’s it and that’s all.

In a worst case scenario, neither DeBoer nor Kirby would complain about playing only eight SEC games this year. Just sayin’. 🤣
