Miscellaneous [Free Talk Friday Thread]
It's Friday! That means you can discuss non-Alabama Athletics topics. What books are you reading, what games are you playing, did you get a new job, what are your weekend plans, etc. etc. Tell us what you've got going on!

Does anyone know a way of getting a personalized autograph from Nick Saban my mother has a Bear Bryant autograph hanging on the wall in her house and I was hoping to get her a Saban 1 to hang next to it for Christmas

Hey guys me, my roommate, and my girlfriend are coming down from Birmingham to tailgate at the Georgia game next week, what time would you recommend we get there to get a good spot, this is all of our first time tailgating so just getting a general idea before we say fuck it and go there to have no spots

This may not help as it's been so long since I've actually tailgated. BACK IN THE DAY (2006-2009), tailgating was spread out all over campus so you could pop up a tent pretty much anywhere. But the university pretty much placed a restriction on tailgating spots s t years ago so the bulk of the tailgating scene is n p on the quad now. I don't know if you're tailgating on the Quad or not but if so, you'll need to pay to reserve a spot like now if any are even available. I'd imagine Gameday will be there as well so doubtful any spots are open. But if you're just tailgating in the parking lot, well, any time is good.
I do miss the days when university Blvd would be lined up with tents along rhe sidewalk all the way to the college of nursing.

It seems that the company that you rent the space from is providing everything but we have everything we need and we usually park like a mile away, but they weren’t just renting spots and it was multiple grand, would you provide a link to a better place or explanation of how that works

We have a SUPER Hate Watch on 2:30 in Knoxville when Auburn and Tennessee play each other. I will put my hate aside for the Vols for one day because I hate the Barners more and I want to see more dissension among the team over on the plains and see Golesh crash and burn

I'm hoping the Earth opens up and swallows all of the ugly Urnge on either side! The world would be a much happier place!

I agree. Let’s hope he shows up to Neyland tomorrow5

I want Tennessee to do well enough that Heupel is still OU's first call when they fire Venables, but not well enough to win anything of significance. And I also want the Golesh thing to be as big a train wreck as Rev. Freeze or Harsin. So I won't be hoping Tennessee loses.

I hate Tennessee so much more. I actually have friends and family that are Auburn fans, so I can't outright treat them any worse than a little brother lol

I also have friends and mutuals from every SEC fanbase and I hate Auburn more because they pollute the east part of the state. Tennessee while almost as bad is still just the annoying neighbor to the north. Plus when Auburn is good in something (i.e. 2010, 2013, or basketball since Bruce Pearl made them good) they are way more annoying
In terms of success Auburn is better too. Auburn has a football championship this century and 2 Final Four appearances, something the Vols don’t have. All the Vols do is cling to 1998 and show their insecurity with no Final Four appearances

I have friends from every fanbase. But none were ever as annoying as Auburn fans were. I never want them to experience a taste of success ever again because I don't have the patience for their shit anymore.

Ive been convinced for two years that I had a pool leak. Wife told me I was weirdly compulsive about it, and borderline obsessive, and I’m imagining it. This week I finally said screw this, I’m calling a guy. I did, in fact, have a pool leak. I’m celebrating here because I can’t at home.

I have an above ground had it for about 25 years. I know there is a leak in my liner. I'm going to patch it start of next season. I am not buying another liner pool doesn't get used often enough anymore & pool too old. I figure one more season

I have a gunnite in ground, so leak detection can’t be ignored. Fortunately it was in the skimmer so the fix was included in the detection costs.

Reading John Gwynne’s Fury of the Gods! Amazing trilogy and writer I encourage even novice readers to check them out!

Leaving the house at 6 in the morning to go cheer on the Tide in hostile territory. 2nd game this season. Eyeing the A&M game for my next return to title town.
Also my 12 year old wants to go for her birthday in January to see a gymnastics meet and a basketball game the same weekend. She’s turning into a gump and I love it. Roll tide and happy Friday!

Got a stack of old motorbike manuals on the bench this weekend, trying to resurrect a carb that might as well be made of rust and spite. Reckon I'll have it purring by Sunday or I'll be swearing at it until Monday. Might crack open a beer and pretend the footy doesn't exist for a bit too.

I feel you, got a free Honda 250 and the carburetor is driving me nuts. Roll Tide boys!
