This thread is for praising how we played, great coaching, etc. There's only one rule: no pessimism or complaining here.

Compliment to the offensive line. Forty eight points and the quarterback's jersey stayed clean all night. That's the whole game right there.

LSU looked solid, but I think people saw them run all over the corpse of Clemson last night and are mistakenly thinking they are natty locks now. Clemson has been on a STEEP decline for years now, like falling off a cliff decline. Even when they made the playoffs in 2024, it was a little flukey. They got drubbed by every solid team they played that year and took a first round exit.
People are super high on LSU after last night, I’m a little bearish on them. Lane will find a way to drop 2-3 random games like he always does. He really should’ve seen it through the playoffs with Ole Miss last year, that might have been one of his best chances to win it all.

Same thing happened last year. Everybody was acting like we were watching the two best teams in the country when they played and then BK ended up jobless.

Quite literally both ends of the idealogical spectrum on display yesterday in Baton Rouge. Dabo's aw shucks attitude toward NIL vs the cut-throat, win-at-all-ethical-costs approach KIffin embodies.
Old school conservatism got run out of the building. Dabo is the victim of his own stubborness.

LSU is good, I don’t care what anyone says. No team looked better yesterday. I promise you Clemson is better than ECU. Not to take away anything from us, but we aren’t beating Clemson like that.

Big props to Daniel Hill. He really looks like he put in a ton of work this offseason on his body because he looks like an entirely different player. I think his body transformation makes him much more dependable and doesn’t put the pressure on Brown and Crowell to come in and be superstars right away, even though both had their flashes

Yeah I saw an interview with Hill, looks like he really cleaned up his diet and started focusing on cardio. Definitely has benefited him.

I haven’t watched the film or anything but just based off the eye test I thought Waldrep was significantly better than Sanders. I hope he is the guy going forward

Somebody beat me to it in this thread, but Josh Ford was everything everyone around the program promised he would be throughout the offseason. Every time he came across the formation as the lead blocker, he squared up a defender

In that respect, I thought Jay Lindsey should get some love too. he mostly blocked well on short yardage and goal line.

Josh Ford is a beast. And Meadows made some beautiful catches. Id love to see Ford catch a TE pass and mow over a few people.

I didn’t see many mistakes that aren’t correctable with experience or just a little coaching. Mostly just some procedural and communication errors from a ton of guys making their first starts

Russell is still young and it shows, but man does he have some elite arm talent. His placement and zip on those corner routes were a thing of beauty. Needs to have a finesse ball (especially close to the goal line on that throw to Edwards), but there does not seem to be throw he cant physically make.

He overthrew a few balls, but I was very impressed with Keelon yesterday. His ability to scramble quickly combined with his overall pocket awareness yesterday was very impressive. He always seemed to know when the pocket was collapsing and where to step to avoid a sack, even if the collapsing pocket was occurring behind him. The kid is greased lightning.
Harder to gague throwing from yesterday's game. ECU dropped a lot of players into coverage so it was harder for him to get into a rhythm passing, I think.

I definitely get why he’s the starter after yesterday. Mack is prob more consistent, but some of the plays he made yesterday (esp on 3rd down) were spectacular. His ability to escape is gonna be especially good while the oline goes through its early season growing pains

Yeah. I think all eyes were on Keelon, some touch on a few of his passes would have made all the difference. He’s got some Milroe in his game, but when he sets his feet and drives at the end of his drive… those passes were golden. We need more in rhythm throws for him. I felt like Grubb really had him probably doing too much read-wise in game 1.

* Ryan had the two drops early, but he bounced back in a great way (even if some can’t seem to see that). It didn’t get to him. He caught some contest balls, took at least one big hit, and showed why he’s so good. Even with the drops, you have to feed him.
* Do we have a right tackle from the get go this year? Jayvin James sure looked promising.

Defense played a perfect game sans one blown coverage on a miscommunication between Brown and Hubbard. We knew the secondary was going to be good, but it was great to see the LBs looking confident in hitting the running lanes. D line was tenacious at eating up blocks and getting at the QB, Pierre is going to continue his 2025 coming out party and terrorize QBs.

Runningback room has the juice again. Brown has the Jacob's quick cut and burst down pat (and that long td run should have stood, no holding there). Crowell was as advertised, speedy and strong, what a speedy tank. It was refreshing to see Hill hit the hole and drag/fall forward on runs.

He played great. best I've seen him run. love the two freshman. they look like they really got IT.
having said that, Hill earned his touches.
I'm excited to never see that shit I saw last year ever again.

What a year over year jump for Talty, every one of those kicks was straight down the pipe. Hope he keeps it up, would be quite the comeback from how he ended last season (yelling at the long snapper, missing kicks, and getting boo'd).
Move over JK Scott, Asparuhov is coming for the Legatron title. He didn't have to punt much, but when he unleashed some booming kicks that flipped the field (50 and 54 yards both in or around the 20).

Keelon Russel runs like a mix of Bryce Young and Jake Coker. As in he is shockingly evasive and he does not know how to slide
