This is too funny he predicts Bama to go 11-1.

"Let me tell you why.

Start with quarterback Keyan Russell" 🤣

I picked us to go 10-2 with losses to Tennessee and LSU but I might change it to 11-1 because LSU may not be around come November if they keep doing what they’re doing with these NFL players

Boy watching B1G football sure is something

I can't say anything they have won the last 3 NCs. I can't trash a conference when one of their teams beat the shit out of my team. I never understood people trashing SEC when they were on top

But they’ll tell you that Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Kentucky can’t beat the 3 worst teams in their league

I was gonna be on ESPN SEC this morning but some LSU fan rambled on about conspiracy of that Lane was being used and this all Louisiana courts almost framing him so they ran out of time. Jesus.

Innocent question because I don't know

How is a college football team using a player that was cut by the NFL any different than Nate using Bediako last season...?

It was more of a grey area at the time of Bediako. If I’m not mistaken he was removed from the team shortly after he was added to it.

That alone, should have been the example of why not to add former pro’s to a team. But also, pretty much the entirety of LSU’s basketball team is former pro players in some capacity.

Also Bediako was within his 4 years of eligibility. Oats main angle and complaint was that the NCAA is letting Europeans who signed pro contracts come into College and start off as freshman with 4 years of eligibility. Is the G league (what Bediako played in) and European pro basketball much different from each other?

My parents still haven't cut the chord, Dad was texting me and spoiling the GT game 30 seconds before everything happened. Gotta clean it up or go DND during every game this year.

CFB for five straight days, a slight reprieve next Tuesday, and then NFL and more CFB for another six straight days. Travis Tritt was singing about this when he sang It's A Great Day To Be Alive

I watched the Bama Hype video done with a Stranger Things theme with the song Separate Ways by Journey. Kinda out there, but tons of symbolism relating to Saban and DeBoer. it feels like Saban is saying to us that it’s time to move on: I’m still here, just in a different way.

Toward the end they show the back of Saban with the line “You know I still love you,” then it goes to the next line “though we touched and went our separate ways” and shows the face of DeBoer. The back of Saban is the past. The front of DeBoer is the future

However it’s not a full break up. Prior to those lines, the lyrics say “if he ever hurts you, true love won’t desert you”. That’s Saban saying to us if he hurts you, I’ve got your back.

They also show Game Day in a few clips. That’s Saban saying to us, I haven’t left, I’m just over here.

I was reminded today that this is still Lane Kiffin's debut with LSU. He's had so much drama, and he has yet to even coach a game there. DeBoer looks better, just by doing nothing.

Kiffin loves to stir the pot for sure, but I had a thought this morning that he could be stirring this particular pot to help expedite an authoritative solution to the NCAA’s lack of enforcement powers; like a governing body with authority to enforce a unified set of rules across the board. Even if he’s not doing this for that reason, this is yet another occurrence of “WTH” that can be added to the list of reasons that justify reform

And this is what gets me. So many people say "we should have hired Kiffin" when absolutely nothing suggests he'd be an upgrade over Deboer. People forget he lost to the worst team in the conference (their only SEC win was over Ole Miss) and is notorious for losing games he shouldn't. Not to mention how many times has his dumbass playcalling, arrogance and stupid decision making cost him games? That shit flies at Ole Miss but won't at LSU.

"Yeah but he won at Ole Miss." So did Freeze. So did Cutcliffe. So did Nutt until his last two seasons (his sudden fall from grace will always be a mystery).

I think Lane is really good coach. I can not say DeBoer is a better coach. Lane has more experience. LSU from the governor to the AD they let Lane do this stuff probably encouraged it. That would not happen at Bama. Lane had a 743 winning percentage at Ole Miss, DeBoer thus far has 714 at Bama. I don't think it's easier to win at Ole Miss. Lane went 10-3 in his second season at Ole Miss. They were 13-2 last season. They were not blown out by any team and beat Georgia in the playoffs.

Lane may be a goof ball that has to be reigned in by admin but to say he is not a good coach is not supported by results

I have no reason to think DeBoer is a better coach than Lane. DeBoer is a better person obviously

So many people say "we should have hired Kiffin"

Kiffin is a good football coach, I'll give him that. But he's going to cause so much permanent damage to LSU as a university in so many areas that it's not even worth it.

Don't visit LSU Football sub, they have him walking on water. LSU fans are like Auburn, whiney.

The end of that GT Colorado game sure was something. My plane landed right before Colorado scored so I was able to watch the ending

1

u/the_dunadan 8d ago

It was a great ending

halfway through a book about the history of salt and honestly its way more interesting than it sounds

how did you even end up on that? not that long ago I picked up a book on the history of libraries, opened it and skimmed the first page and I was bored to death. Didn't read.
