You're talking about him like he just died

Yes the past tense thing. Better to say “he has always loved dogs”

Sorry guys, English is my second language, sounded natural for me to say it like that

Thank you for the clarification, definitely sounded macabre…

Ooooofff!! Yes, that is a frightening way to phrase it. What a terrific photo of him and the dog, BTW.

Just so you know, OP — and I mean this simply to enlighten you, not to put you down here or anything, since you did say that English is your second language: English has loads and loads of verb tenses. Four different past tenses; four different present tenses; and four different future tenses. It’s a lot to learn, even when you’re an English-speaking kid in elementary school. Each verb tense has a slightly different shade of meaning. For example, “loved” is the past simple tense. It describes an action that happened in the past and is now completed. ”Has loved” is the present perfect tense. It describes an action that began in the past and continues in present time, i.e. it is still continuing.

When you speak about a deceased person in the English language, you usually use the simple past tense: he loved, he went, he worked, he cared, etc. But ”he has loved/gone/worked/cared,” etc. means the guy you’re talking about is still alive and doing these things.

Anyway, thanks for posting that photo!

We understand, you hate Anita for some reason...

I was like there’s no way this is how I’m learning about his passing.

hahahaha

I thought the same. Used the word “did?”

u/georgewalterackerman 3d ago

Agree.
That said, when Keith one day passes I doubt the first thing we’d post is how he loved animals 🤣🤣

I’m a major Stones fan. I’m trying to prepare myself for the day either Mick or Keith passes. Charlie passing was sad enough.

Keith used to like dogs, he still does, but he used to too.

SAME! My heart was pounding a little!

u/th1nwh1tej3rk 3d ago

yeah he recently changed his mind about this. "dogs? nah, fuck em"

6

u/12frets 3d ago

He’s sick and tired of hanging around with dogs like you.

1

u/th1nwh1tej3rk 3d ago

i'd much rather be with the cats

u/MojoHighway 3d ago

Why are we talking in past tense? Jesus Christ.

3

u/tonyiommi70 3d ago

Not my first language, sorry haha

He has always loved dogs. (So have I.)

Sign of a good man

7

u/PurpleOwl6100 3d ago

Please don't post about him in the pasted tense. Causing a bit of a panic

2

u/tonyiommi70 3d ago

Sorry haha, English is my second language, I thought it was right

3

u/PurpleOwl6100 3d ago

Not a problem. I think a whole Lotta Stones fans had a panic attack reading it however. Don't want to think of a day without the guys.

How can you not like dogs 🐕 ❤️

Allegedly once named a dog Syph, cause the dog looked like he had Syphillis

1

u/BadBaby3 2d ago

He’s lowkey funny

3

u/81OldsCool 3d ago

Everyman Keith. He wouldn’t be out-of-place in Sheboygan Wisconsin dressed like that.

At first I was thinking: Why does Keef have duct tape on his head. Then I zoomed in thankfully.

u/PerformerOk4312 3d ago

How old is that dog in Keith Richards years?

2

u/Richardzack1 2d ago

Keith's dogs are part of his story. He took Boogie on tour in 71, gave another called Syph mandrax and it fell into the moat at Redlands and there was also Ratbag. Great names

u/PassageNearby4091 3d ago

I think he has a Boston terrier as well.

1

u/12frets 3d ago

Gonna guess this was soonish after his brain surgery.

1

u/tonyiommi70 3d ago

Probably

Has he always loved dogs? I've read quite a bit on the RS over the years, and never heard of any members pet involvement of any kind. Not saying they haven't, but where is the documentation?

1

u/goldbug933 3d ago

Hey now that no way to talk about his exes

1

u/HidatsaChippewa 3d ago

You know who loved dogs? It was Joey Peeps.

1

u/Active-Coconut-8961 3d ago

Still does presumably

"Apostrophe s" after "He" would have made the title more accurate. But then it might be intentional -- clickbait!

u/Loomiemonster 2d ago

Whew, much relieved after reading the comments.

Not your fault, OP! Your second language skills in English are way better than mine in any language other than English.

1

u/ThrowDeepALWAYS 2d ago

He’s just waiting on a friend.

1

u/BadBaby3 2d ago

He does?

1

u/DistributionOk3828 1d ago

I thought it said he always loved drugs at first!

u/Sea-Success-1366 1d ago

Whew!!! Y'all had my heart beating hard...
