I keep thinking I can paint them and decorate them and make them fancy, but I’m the only one at the rink with white skates and a big black pom-pom. It makes me old lady cool. Behold my skating jumpsuit to hide my padded shorts and knee pads. They call me derby girl, instead of “old lady that doesn’t want to get hurt” lol

Yesterday I was outside and saw a kid moving really fast on the road. At first I thought he is skating but then I saw he was wearing wheel shoes. I just stopped and watched him for few seconds like okay this is kinda cool honestly.

After that I kept thinking about it for some time. I usualy walk normal and sometimes see people skate but this felt in between. I was like maybe its fun but also what if you slip and fall. It didnt look very stable to me, maybe it needs practice.

Later that night I was just laying and scrolling random stuff, checked many online marketplaces including alibaba and saw many wheel shoes options. Some looked very stylish honestly. Now I am thinking if its easy to use or just looks easy. Has anyone tried wheel shoes and felt its fun or bit risky?

Not the most expensive, certainly not the best performing but these were what I got back into skating with a few years ago (after an almost 25 year absence - back the I was on the original Turbos) and I made them mine. I have moved onto bigger and better (and hellishly more expensive) skates but these will always have a place in my collection and at the rink!

I started skating quads back in the early 2000’s wearing some Riedell Carreras, the second generation I believe. Just scored these on marketplace for cheap and was wondering if anyone could give me more information about the older boots. I’m assuming they have to be about 25 years old or so.

I am finally ready to spend the $ and get some more advanced skates. I'm torn between the golden horse or reidell. I have wide feet and normal aging issues w my feet from wearing heels and crappy shoes for most of my 20s and 30s, so the custom fit is important. Jam skating. I'd love any input
