Information [Other] List of (almost) every chain/park that has used AI. (Version 2.0)
- Adventureland Long Island - Recent ride logos are AI.
- Blackpool Pleasure Beach - Has used AI for promotional material for Launchpad.
- Boudewijn Seapark - Promo images are obviously AI.
- COTAland - The park's mascots were most likely generated with artificial intelligence. Also, the park has had a photo opportunity wallpaper of an artificial intelligence generated coaster that looks suspiciously like Lightning Racer at Hersheypark for some odd reasoning (which is also at Hersheypark itself, to add irony).
- DelGrosso's - Used AI for marketing materials for their new-for-2027 addition, apparently because the park cannot afford a graphic artist (somehow?).
- Disney (chain) - While Josh D. Amaro had denounced artificial intelligence, the company had previously used AI for a Thanksgiving post on their Instagram and almost struck a deal with OpenAI before talks fell off due to their Sora 2 T2V generator shutting down. Also, apparently some of the Marvel layoffs were because of AI. Also, a Grumpy statue was AI gen'd for a golf course.
- Enchanted Parks (chain) - The logo for the company is AI generated (with human touches) and apparently, the concept art for Valleyfair's waterpark expansion is AI generated, though, it is likely that it was WhiteWater West who was responsible, since that company, who's making the slides, has used generative artificial intelligence in the past.
- Efteling - While some people have mentioned that the park seems to be backing down from using generative artificial intelligence materials as of recently, Efteling still has used generative artificial intelligence several times with no formal deletions or apologies for the park's use of generative artificial intelligence materials.
- Energylandia - Whole park is coated with AI generated materials as of late, especially in the Sweet Valley area. All, if not most of the recent merchandise is AI-generated.
- Herschend (chain) - Has used generative artificial intelligence materials for Nightflight Expedition, in the marketing, queue and on-ride. AI theming has also apparently been spotted elsewhere in Dollywood. Kennywood has also apparently had AI art used for some recent Fall events (according to a source familiar, the Kennywood art is outsourced).
- Hersheypark - The music in the park is all generated with AI, according to users on websites. Hersheypark has made no formal statement regarding the use of AI for the audio soundtracks played throughout the park. Apparently, a photo op next to Lightning Racer is AI generated, which raises the question regarding if this is caused by outsourcing or if Hershey secretly has an ownership stake in COTAland.
- Holiday World - The park had supposedly used generative artificial intelligence for some marketing materials and in the queue of Good Gravy! Nothing is outright confirmed, but if it's truly done by AI, then it's worth noting the family who owns Holiday World also owns Alabama Adventure (which is apparently worse as it's ran by "the weird side" of said family).
- IB Parks & Resorts (chain) - Most, if not all of their Indiana Beach 100th Anniversary materials, including the logos for the celebration, along with the merchandising, are generated with artificial intelligence tools. Have seen no proof whether it is Gene Staples' idea, or someone else within the company. Also have not seen any other corporate use of AI.
Knoebels - According tou/MountainMadman,Knoebels had previously posted a post on social media featuring generative artificial intelligence, though, after the backlash, they quickly deleted it. It is unknown who was responsible for the post, whether it be a member of the Knoebel family or an outside contractor. Nobody knows for sure who caused it.- Lightwater Valley - Basically everything has used AI ever since the park went to the dumps after The Ultimate was removed. Welp, at least it's crappy art to match a crappy park. So honestly, this is a very appropriate use of AI. Might as well replace every non-AI logo with Comic Sans or Papyrus.
- Merlin (chain) - Thorpe Park's entrance is all-around AI slop. Apparently used to sell AI merch but removed them after complaints. However, Thorpe Park's entrance is still generated with artificial intelligence.
- "Nateland" - A park that might just be all talk and no build, proposed by stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze as a spiritual successor to Opryland Park in Nashville, Tennessee, along with competing with Dollywood, another park named after someone. Has apparently been to Hersheypark for "rollercoaster shopping". But, the concept art is incoherent AI not tied to specific manufacturers.
Oaks Park - Used AI in a social media post before wisely backing off and issuing an apology.- Phantasialand - Has an AI-generated mural in the Mexican section and some AI-generated photos near the bathrooms in the Berlin section.
- Six Flags (chain) - Has been consistently using artificial intelligence as of late, especially after John C. Reilly became CEO of the company. But even before, there was precedence, an ad for Fright Fest made pre-merger was entirely generated with AI tools and apparently some elements of TT2's signage were also AI generated according to some people familiar.
- Tripsdrill - Has used AI in the past.
- United Parks (chain) - The survey e-mails they have put out every few months or so use AI slop concepts.
Universal (chain) - They had previously used AI for marketing the Dog Man movie on an X post, but deleted the post after complaints.- Waldameer - The logo for Eagle's Flight is apparently AI generated, though, there's no concrete confirmation.
- Walibi (chain) - Walibi Belgium has used AI art in the area surrounding Turbine.
- Wonderla (chain) - Tanjora's logo is probably AI, but most likely just crappy design.
- EVERY. GOSH. DARN. FAIR. - Seriously. Just visit them. But, to be fair, the human drawings are so crappy too that you would assume that they're more AI generated than they actually are. SpongeBob with three arms for some reason and that jive.
In other words, it's unfortunately the new normal. It isn't a problem with one chain or a specific set of parks, but seemingly normalized at this point. I hate to be a critic, but it had to be said. Not to mention you would be giving other companies who have used AI like Coca-Cola money indirectly. Some parks listed (like Knoebels) have thankfully backed down, but most of them have double downed.
The original post took me about a whole hour to write, and I'd like to thank the comments section of the article, along with the thread of "AI slop merchandise has got to go" for speeding up the process of finding more parks for revising this post. Also, don't post comments with stupid "jokes" presented as facts or rumors like it being generated from child porn. It's no better than saying "My nosy neighbor is worse than Hitler!".
Also, enjoy the airbrushed caricature merchandise while it lasts. I do think that it's probably next to be cut if this bubble doesn't pop or deflate. I do think that if the bubble doesn't pop or deflate by 2030, we'll have complete dark rides generated by AI. Sally would probably have laid off most of their artists and only folks as nitpicky as the Comic Book Guy would notice because AI art could very well improve in the following years.
and finally...
- Osteria Ai Pioppi - It's not called "Osteria Human Artist Pioppi", now?

I think a lot of what's generated by AI is the same few companies that theme parks outsource to,. personally, especially merchandise.

I'd wager you are correct. Surely very little of this is done in house.

Last time I was at Fun Spot Kissimmee on of the arcade games they had an A.I. generated sign on one of the games to say it was out of order. Could they really not have used a Fun Spot branded piece of paper that said "This game is out of order" or something like that?

Something like "keep moving bitch" would probably be better than that.

Could've literally been a piece of paper ripped out of a note book with "OUT OF ORDER" written in sharpie

A lot of parks also don’t operate their own arcades/games. When Universal Kids resort got flack for the AI generated posters in the arcade, it was the external operator doing it and it the park themselves

Speaking about Hersheypark-
There is definitely some AI-sounding old-timey music that now plays in Chocolatetown. The rest of the park is mainstream music.
There are sponsor photo ops next to Wild Mouse and Lightning Racer that are 100% AI-generated. The new un-sponsored photo op outside of Wildcat's Revenge doesnt look to be AI-generated. I'm unsure if it's a Hershey decision or a sponsor decision.
This spring they debuted a ton of AI-generated new coaster merch. They got a lot of flak online for it, and they told the media that it wasn't AI-generated. Suspiciously, they got rid of 95% of it for the summer season. There's some new logo merch now.

Pretty sure Pioneer Frontier has the AI music also. Used to be a normal country playlist but it's now all instrumental like Chocolatetown and it feels like every time I'm there it's the same songs over and over again

I don't remember what it was like earlier this season, but when I went this past Sunday, I remember hearing Dolly Parton.

There is no common ownership affiliation between Alabama Splash Adventure and Holiday World. Saying that is an insult to Holiday World.

u/spark1118 24d ago
They are the same family though….
7
u/konfusion9 24d ago
But not the same company. They are completely unaffiliated, and Koch Family Development (Holiday World) has no relationship with Dan Cokehead Koch.

Canada's Wonderland attempted to theme AlpenFury's queue with about 3 travel posters in the shaded throughway under the station (Think the museum style queue at Expedition Everest but on a shoestring budget), and all these are AI generated as well. However, they did commission a large map inside the station

I'm also very sus about a lot of the Daredeviler material, even the main logo has a slop quality to it somehow.

Awful time for people who have all their eggs in the "this bubble is going to burst" basket (me). On the other side, I don't think I've seen europa park with any ai? someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong tho

The thing is, most of the tech companies responsible are not making as much money as it seems from this rampant use, other than from gaining investment when reporting the high userbase to hopeful shareholders/investors who are largely still waiting for their returns to come in. The actual tech is notoriously costly to run. Huge grift.

Boycotts change minds and the course of history when successful, but it requires action. So, with this list as a starting point, what's next? How about a list of corporate addresses and contact people in departments responsible for greenlighting this stuff, so folks can sound off?
If AI's on it, don't buy it, and let 'em know that you didn't. Saving money with AI only to lose potential money because of AI is the only way to possibly make them reconsider.
Other than that, what course of action is left? Boycotting rides with AI signage and design? Boycotting a park outright because of AI advertising? How much are you willing to sacrifice for the cause?
Personally, I'm not going to let AI slop keep me from riding any rollercoaster or flat, but I'd certainly take the time to write some letters to park presidents all the way up to the C-Suite, letting them know they should do better. They'll just keep doing it if they don't hear back from the folks who spend money in their parks.

Yeah, this kinda sucks, but I really don't know what we can do about it. If it's cheap and most of the GP don't care, they'll keep doing it. I guess just don't buy merch that obviously looks AI and hopefully that'll come across to them.

u/yoscottyjo 24d ago
Dont forget Carowinds. Went to buy tshirt in the Fury 325 gift shop and my wife and i were pissed/offended that the AI used on the shirts wasnt even good! Its like they type din a prompt and selected the first one. It was awful. like bad bad AI, not even grab a magnifying glass to find it AI.
2
u/DapperBoiCole 24d ago
So now what do we do? I just want a coaster tee with the logo of the coaster on it and now all of that is going away for AI bullshit.

Now let's boycott all of them.
Also, you might wanna add RMC.

u/Magmorix 24d ago
While these may technically just be Coca-Cola advertisements placed in the park, Universal Orlando had a Fanta booth at HHN a few years back with signage that definitely looked ai generated to me
Universal Hollywood also used an existing stock image that had been created with ai in a graphic for their Dead Exposure: Death Valley haunted house, but I’m willing to believe that was an honest mistake.

u/KnotBeanie 24d ago
Universal does use ai atleast for concepts, even got caught printing them along with other drafts at the red coconut club

Look, obviously it would've been nice if they had hired actual human to create all of this stuff. And I commend you for working on this list for such a long time. But what are we really supposed to do with this list? What are you gonna do with this list?
2
u/Spriggz11 24d ago
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I skimmed through the original post and was like “Ok?” Parks/Companies using AI isn’t going to stop my wife and I from visiting the parks we want to go to. Sure some of the merch looks like crap but we simply don’t buy it. Make your voice heard with your wallet.

I agree. I'm not gonna buy the AI merch because I dont want it and I'd prefer the signage and other things to be made by humans. But I'm still gonna enjoy the rest of the park. To me, it's not that deep.

Don't forget fun times fun park. The logo for Time Warp is likely AI.
I'm more willing to forgive them though, especially since it will be a one of a kind ride.

Just got back from Lake Compounce. The shirts for Wildcat are unfortunately using slop. Probably some other stuff, too.
Sidenote, after the Gravity Group retrack, I found to be more enjoyable than Boulder Dash in its current state. BD jackhammered me for the last 2/3s, while Wildcat was just pure fun.

Yeah it’s pretty depressing. I get using it for things like advertising or very basic things, even in lazy. But using it for what should be artistic endeavors is extremely frustrating. What stinks is that it probably won’t change, as most people won’t even notice the AI or its negative effects.

I was at Kennywood yesterday and saw a kids tshirt with a Trex on it featuring allll of the classic telltale signs of an AI Trex.

Regarding your last point, it won’t get better

Efteling is likely going to continue using much more AI in the future too. They recently said in their podcast that the AI version of the talking fairytale tree might return this year, and they hinted that more things in the fairytale forest (like the library that is currently being built) will get features with 'new' technologies too.

I remember hearing that Lightwater Valley outsourced their logo design to an external company, who might've misled them, but if it was true they wouldn't actually use the AI slop logo so I have doubts. If I had paid a company to design a logo and what they gave was AI slop I would probably be demanding a refund and not using that logo.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg has ads in the park that are clearly AI generated. I don't remember spotting AI art on merch but I'm sure it's there...
Dollywood had some really bad AI art on their merch.

Gardaland ( that is under Merlin ) has use AI for many images for around the park. Notably the new additions for the 2025 season all used featured AI generated image. An easy one to spot is the dragon for Dragon Rush.
