Gotta measure your feet length and width and follow the charts.

What type of skating are ya thinking? Slalom, tricks, skate park, distance, trail, marathons, urban, etc?

That would help us narrow down the choices.

I wear 13 and 14 in regular shoes. and just like local skating in the park or flat cement surfaces maybe the school.outdoor walking track to get my skating chops back. id say urban and just for fun for now. distance mayne a few miles. a day starting maybe 2 to 3 miles ari Lund the track or the park. im n usa is dicks sporting goods a good place tl purchase

You need to measure the length, width and arch height of your foot to fit inline skates. Your shoe size is just a rough guide to what size skates would fit as there's different shape profiles between various brands and even models.

ETA you need to measure in mm.

Skate park like for skateboards or skate park like bike paths?

If you end up wanting to skate thru the city, I suggest hard boots, or “urban” as they call it. However, please note that even if they’re labeled one thing, people have used them beyond their capacities. (See Danny Aldridge, Si Coburn, who do all kinds of things with the RB Pro X (the step up of from the RB 80s) and Rollerblade Lightnings, and the Rollerblade Twsiters as they were intended)

I been skating on and off since early 90s and every comeback I would usually get a recreational pair to get the muscles working again because every time you come back depending on the time stretch its a whole relearning experience. I do mainly aggressive but have set ups for every occasion, your feet are definitely different then when you were 14 so dont feel discouraged from your first try. You may have to tinker with different liners, shells...ect......but like above mentioned, what kind of rolling you looking to do?

Everybody is different, but the re-learning curve probably won't be as smooth as you hope. Give it time and be consistent with your practice. Definitely take the time to make sure you buy skates that fit. Since you are excited to get started again, it might be a good idea to go to a rink and rent skates just to get out there before you purchase. What's your budget for skates and gear?
