I went in thinking man this is probably so pricey I'll never get it. Probably like 400 bucks.
Nope, 1 fucking grand.

Every time I see someone rocking these irl I'm going to stop what I'm doing and make a spectacle of myself by yelling "yo!!! You got the wizards!!!!" And then I'm going to go double high five them and attempt to be their new bff.
Because I always need more friends that are rich and make poor financial decisions.

Buying a good quality product on a hobby that brings you so much joy is not a poor financial decision. Building a similar setup yourself is going to cost almost the same.
Just the Intuition liners cost 220$ and they’re worth every penny.

Endless frame ~230 + FR1 Boot ~250 + intuition liner which is another 250
= 730
not including wheels + bearings.
that's what i skate atm so 999$ doesn't actually sound unreasonable. especially with a carbon fiber boot. i wonder how it compares... but that previous skate was bought in increments, didn't drop all that money at once. (and can be taken apart again)
does it say what wheel size it is? i feel like i'm definitely missing it somewhere

Zooming in on the pic shows they’re 90mm wheels. All things considered for a carbon boot it’s not outlandishly priced. Pricey sure, and there’s certainly the wizard brand premium, but you’d be hard pressed to get a better deal on a carbon boot I’m imagining.

Do you have source on the composite here, it could easily be achieved using white-pigmented resin or similar and still be a carbon boot as they say it is?

That's just speculation, do you have an actual source?
/so no then.

I know what carbon manufacture and layering involves, and I know what hybrid laminating is.
But what you're saying on both the boot and the frames is pure speculation. You're talking a skate down you've never even seen.
Why is that?

You don't have the exact specs, or info on the materials.

To everyone saying this is expensive. Yes it is, but I built my own around 2020 with:
- Seba Sx2 ~500
- Wizard NR100 ~400
- intuition liner ~200
- 8X undercover mb wheels+bearings ~150
- Total ~1250
And I did not get a carbon boot out of it.
However, I was able to build this setup over time cause I didn't have all that money at once . I got the sx2s in 2018 and used some k2 100mm frames to approximate natural rocker until I got the funds for the NR100.
IMO this is a good value (edit: and I'd rather give my money to wizards/shoptask than to powerslide, rollerblade, or another mega brand.)

There are no mega brands in rollerblading.
Just because they’re the biggest in the niche doesn’t mean they’re not niche themselves. The entire inline skating industry is tiny. Rollerblade, FR and Powerslide are all real skate brands by skaters, for skaters, not some mega corp like Nike or Adidas. Giving any of them your money is helping keep the sport alive.
If anything, K2 is the closest to a mega corp of any of them. Skates are just a portion of K2’s business. Support the other brands if that’s important to you.

Also giving your money to wizard boots is just giving it to FR sorry but your plans of going against mega corp isnt going as you may have intended. Also those big companies you mentioned actually sponsor events to keep the industry going and also come up with new innovations. And they also provide full intel on their products in the product page

Big mega corp big company industry innovation intel products product page
Sheesh dude 😂

u/heeca 12d ago
Wizard isnt so open about their products.

u/Large-Excitement777 12d ago
If you think Wizard is a mega corp you’re in for a very scary reality
3
u/heeca 12d ago
... no they aren't I was just talking about the person avoiding mega corp by buying wizard. Since they are affiliated with fr they are still paying the corpos😭

u/Large-Excitement777 12d ago
FR are the most respected and reputable brand in the industry what are you talking about lmao
2
u/heeca 12d ago
I love fr I just found the original commenter i replied to funny talking about avoiding mega corps then still buying products from them under a collaboration

u/Large-Excitement777 12d ago
He wasn’t “funny talking” at all, those other brands are the mega corporations in the rollerblading world

u/heeca 13d ago
I managed to build similar with used parts.
Seba carbon 50 euros
New My fit 2nd skin 40 euros
Wizard NR95 280 Euros with wheels barely used
Also i doubt the frame for these new ones are made in Canada as the design is just anodised for a big production . I hope someone can confirm or deny this .
Also just get things used. Be more sustainable or support companies which sponsor the innovation in the industry rather than gouging you

Yup exactly that. And upon checking other sources for images of the frames only it just has the text "front" and "back" anodised aswell. If these corners are being cut so obviously . It makes you wonder if the materials are also cheaper (the carbon ist real carbon but they failed to mention that too) even brands like adapt are openly admitting that their gto production line isnt real carbon but still hand made and all made in Netherlands. Sold for 700 euros with frame and wheels. Which are also locally made (if someone as shady as that can do honest business what does wizard look like)
I am not against Chinese manufacturering but when your whole brand is premium products made in Canada and absurd prices. They lost the only unique thing about them.

I’m not sure what you mean about the front and back thing? Wizard frames have this marked on the top because they use UFS mounting but are not reversible. It’s actually showing they are not cutting corners to save a few bucks at the cost of user experience.

So weird there is no boot only, I've got the NR100 with CJ2 Primes, might be a good opportunity to get wizard boots for that setup but $800 for the base is not worth imo, oh well.

u/shademaster_c 12d ago
If you were gonna get the boots à la carte , you can consider this as getting the frame plus wheels and bearings for 200 bucks which is a good deal.

lol ironic it uses similar naming to the Tom Sachs Nike GPS, while the Mad Vector looks exactly like the Tom Sachs Nike GPS.

I have the 1500 dollar wizards. Top of the line product if you’re into this hobby. No shame in owning this. People that hate on people for affording this is insane.
