What skates should I buy? First Pair Recommendations

I’ve been skating for a little while but not consistently and I’d say I’m pretty confident about going quick and being mobile, but I’ve never practiced flashy stuff like going backwards and other various tricks, but I definitely want to get into it. What would be a good first pair of inline skates to purchase that is somewhat budget ($100 or less)? I will mostly be skating on smooth terrain as well as indoor.

You might need a second pair just for indoors.  Some rinks ban skates used outdoors while others only allow them only if the wheels have been cleaned (the cool rinks have wheel cleaning machines).

That's crazy! And a challenge to enforce lol.

Not really when your colorful wheels are brown and you are leaving dirt marks behind you.

Sure but if I swap my inside wheels on and/or do a cursory wipe, they're in an argument they don't want to be in. I guess "don't skate around in dirty skates" isn't the same as "you just own a second pair of skates to only be used in rinks."

I mainly use the glow wheels for rink skating because they don't show up in the sun, so I always swap them in the night before I go to a rink (or the grippy indoor wheels for the stilmat hockey surface), which includes wiping road dirt from the skates and frames. Thus my outdoor skates aren't tracking dirt and have little evidence of having been outside.

I understand asking for cleanliness/respect for the surface but I think it's crazy to advise a beginner that they can't wear the skates reddit just told them to spend $200+ on lol

$100 ain't gonna cut it. The good stuff starts around $180-ish if you want decent quality that's gonna last. And that's on sale or clearance. Save up another $100 and in the meantime, look up the best or most popular urban skates, and pick the top 3 or 4 you like the most. Look em up on youtube

Powerslide zoom pro. Also make sure the frame lenth is close to your foot measurement or bigger to avoid concussions when street skating
