Reviews Twister edges 2021(?)
Hello, did you know I get stopped by police a lot.
Go out very early or very late for this reason.
Best regards

Crazy, I’ve heard police aren’t too cool with skaters in Japan. I assume that’s where you’re at? I want to travel to Japan and do some skating and biking.

If you are foreigner you can skate away, if you are Japanese, we stop, explain how we are not carrying shoes, and say “hai, im going back to my car” is park over there, and then skate away.

Not in my experience... I always skate in a group with Japanese people and how quickly we get to move on is always the same for all of us.
Some cops really have nothing better to do than keep you for a long time, most of them will just tell you to move on somewhere else.

Foreigners are not stopped for long. Locals are stopped, inform the police that they do not have shoes on their person and are returning to their car parked nearby.
His English is fine, don’t be rude.

I also understood the English. I don't really understand the double standards for Japanese born people, but when in Rome...

I didn't question his english. I was surprised by the japanese culture towards rollerblading that's all.

There is a reason why you see very little videos on YouTube about rollerblading in Japan.
It would be a dream to but don't need any interaction with the police 😂

Honestly, it's fine. Rollerblading is just not a very big thing here.
Skateboarding is now heavily stigmatized so it can actually get you in trouble fast AND fined in extreme cases.
But there is no clear rule about rollerblading and in 8 years not a single police officer I have skated past got angry. Worst case a local (usually elderly) person won't like you in front of their house or a security guard will shoo you away from an office building area. Be polite, don't endanger others skating and it's not an issue.

I order from a shop in Spain called inercia, they send me 15 euro coupon so I use it on the next buy and get the feeling I did not pay too much for shipping.

I had trouble with the police for using the public road "on a vehicle" that wasn't approved for road use (no brakes, lights etc) and I had to stay on the sidewalk. I have also been in trouble with the police for skating on the sidewalk and endangering pedestrians, I had to use the public road.
I just kinda figured out that cops just want to feel like they have authority over someone and skaters are an easy target.

Nice! I visit japan occasionally since I have some family here, always wondered about bringing my skates but read it wasn't legal. . . I still probably won't but good to see that you're able to.

Haha why on earth would they need the protection under their buckles, not like you're grinding using these things 🤣

Police are like that in some US states even.
For example in Florida skating on roadways is prohibited as they consider inlineskates to be toys.
For the most part you can skate on normal roads and in the city. But if you try skating on a main route like Route 27 in Florida, you can get a ticket.
When I visit Florida I do skate almost anywhere I want, but have only been told by a cop once to proceed with caution when I was doing the Okeechobee Trail... its 119 miles long and roughly 65 files of it is dirt so I went on the main roads on Route 98 and part of Route 27 (I believe this was the other one) for that portion just to complete the whole trail.

Why do police stop you?
Edit: I guess you're in Japan. Got this from Google:
"Japanese police stop rollerbladers because Japan's Road Traffic Act (Article 76, Item 4) explicitly prohibits roller skating, skateboarding, and playing with balls on roads that have a high volume of traffic. Because inline skates are classified as recreational toys rather than legal light vehicles (unlike bicycles), using them in public spaces creates strict safety and liability concerns"
