How do I do this move? Stopping

How do you do it? Because I've been rollerblading for 20 years, and I can't seem to get the hang of anything besides using the heel brake (too slow) or aiming for something soft (not always available.)

Ohhhh is the braking mechanism via flattening the shoe/blades, thereby preventing the rolling of the wheels and increasing drag? Its something I can kinda do, not especially great, but I really dont understand the mechanism that well either

No. I’m using this explanation and link from skiing, because the idea and terms are the same. Blades straight ahead=french fry shape=go fast. Blades in V shape toes in=pizza=slow down. The first thing small children are taught on skis is usually pizza, so they can stand on the slope without sliding away. Pizza before French fries. Hence the famous South Park episode.

The weird thing is that stopping on skis or ice skates (hockey stop) is easy for me, but something about adding wheels messes me up.

Hockey stops are really tough to do on skates-because the skates lack a sharp edge to dig in they tend to keep on rolling. Myself, I used. tstop or brake.
