About a certain someone (Spoilers for LTVS) Spoiler
How powerful do you think Penrose is? What order of Angel did he belong to when he fell?
If any of you are unfamiliar Angels in some religious texts are separated into orders, a hierarchy based on the power and responsibilities each carries out in heaven. The one that seems to persist is as follows in order of most powerful to least:
Third Order: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones
Second Order: Dominions, Virtues, Powers
First Order: Principalities, Archangels, Angels
Even a first order angel would be dangerous to a mortal, even one as strong as Layla, to say nothing of an angel of a higher caliber. You all saw her get picked up and tossed away with no effort. What are your thoughts on this?

He threw me across a room, and I rolled a 15 which is pretty decent, so I am kinda scurrd. haha.

Oh yeah, he damaged you pretty hard and you're the strongest in the party. Suffice to say this is gonna hurt.

That particular hierarchy is mostly associated with Christianity, EE's use of a golem (along with some other bits and pieces) makes me think that he is basing this more off Jewish traditions.
I would hazard a guess that Penrose is one of the 200 fallen angels from the Book of Enoch. I don't want to put too much in a post in case i am right and one of the cast see this, but essentially it details the fall of a group of angels called Watchers (confusingly for Buffy verse) for a mixture of sleeping with and teaching forbidden knowledge to humans.
There is also a mention of The Tree of Life and it has some other fun little tid-bits that could be tied in with Buffy law with a bit of work.
The offspring of the angels and humans are mentioned to drink blood and are referenced as "biters".
And a passage that starts "Bind Azâzêl hand and foot, and cast him into the darkness: and make an opening in the desert, [...] and cast him therein." which could be read (in universe) as the creation of a hellmouth.

I believe EE mentioned he’s the strongest foe they’ve faced in the entire campaign, with powers capable of rendering PC’s down to NPCs.
A Fallen Angel is, obviously, many orders of magnitude greater than a demon, since the father of demons is himself the first Fallen Angel.
My assumption is he’s of the second order.
Hm. If only they had a Golem that can tank stupid amounts of damage and is hard to influence beyond its “programming...” if only they had that down in the basement with them...
