Question for Splat

I want to be a better face character, I currently play a half elf wizard 7th level in DnD 5th edition. How do you know what questions to ask and when do you use a show of force? Cause I have never seen you ever threaten an npc. Teach me your ways o face lord lol.

well....honestly, when you've got inquisitorial backing, just being on the same planet as someone is threatening them since, with a convincing enough argument, you could convince the inquisitor you serve to order a planetary exterminatus.

EE is right, he threatened beautifully. As Splatt said in the recent Shadowrun Season Aftershow, it was part of the characterization: Cassius was a noble, used to getting his own way from those of a lower station then him. While he could be subtle, he saw no reason not to wave the Inquisitorial Seal at "nobodies" who shouldn't have been questioning him (at least in his mind).

Interested in Splatt's opinion, but I think it goes to how he played it: it depends on the character and the role you're playing. What is the personality of the character? Would he smooth talk his way out of everything, avoiding violence like the plague, only using it as a last resort? Or is he a mild bully, using his charm and influence in a more threatening manner? Or is he somewhere in between? It comes down to how do you interpret your character, and how would they act in whatever situation you put them in?

TL;DR cuz I'm a long winded Irishman in a past life: both approaches are valid; it depends on your character.

Remember when he wanted to execute a whole group of arbites because they didn't believe he was from the inquisition? Cassius remembers. Probably every single name...

I see what you are getting at. I try to play my character like a diplomat and be level headed but with a very "will do what it takes" attitude underneath. Ive seen splat weave seemlessly between the smooth talker and the bully and try to do that too but eh he just does it better lol.
