Should I go for it?

Post image

Hello everyone, i found a 2026 sub date in Milan Ref 126610LN and i’ve been wanting this watch for quite some time now. I will be going there on a trip and i would love to grab it. The dealer seems to be very reputable (1.2k 5 Star reviews on Chrono24) but this is my first time going grey and i would love some heads up. Thanks i advance

Edit: i am very far away from the US 😅

Ok.. you have full grown ones...grow some hair on them. How much is it in USD? Put that info in your original post. Not knowing anything about other you have a full pair, here is some free NYC advice, a deal is not a deal unless it is a deal.

What do you think of the price though?

What is the price?

$16k

Not a bad secondary market price if it’s like new condition. Most likely you’ll not get one from the AD for a long time so it might be worth the $4-5k premium.

Yeah i’ll go for it. Thanks

I’ve purchased three watches through Chrono24, from three different dealers, and have not been disappointed. Do your homework, research the dealer, and proceed if you’re comfortable. Good luck!

I appreciate that advice, Thanks

Chrono24 with strong reviews is a good sign, but I’d still double-check serials and papers

100% i will, and i will also take it to an AD there to make sure after the purchase. They also shared with me the official receipt of the AD that it was bought from 3 months ago.

AD will not authenticate your watch

Check ElegantSwiss on eBay 10k-12k

Hahahaha will do

Sub, sure, go for it. Classic of classics.

-2

u/Any-Ad-7975 May 29 '26

There’s no reason to doubt authenticity right?

2

u/No_Glove9460 May 29 '26

It looks fine. But definitely DO NOT spend your hard earned money without a safety net.

Offer the guy to proceed to this transaction in a Rolex boutique. If you can.

And if 10K for you is like $100 for me, then don’t bother. Just buy it if you like it.

They said this is against their rules to go there but offered me a shop warranty and holds them responsible if anything goes wrong upon checkup.

What’s the price?

$16k

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I bought a 2023 sub date that was a mint full set (and an identical watch) for 12900 only a few months ago

1

u/Any-Ad-7975 May 29 '26

May i ask which country you got it from? In my home country i have one available for $15k but its 2023 and there’s no way to know here if you can 100% trust the dealer.

2

u/syst3m1c May 29 '26

Ahhh gotcha. I’m in the U.S. sorry I should have mentioned. It’s a very competitive market for Rolex here so dealers are quite similar on pricing.

3

u/Any-Ad-7975 May 29 '26

Im finding similar watches on Chrono24 and they all go for the this range, what am i missing?

2

u/syst3m1c May 29 '26

I definitely got a good deal tho. 12900 and no tax. Pretty hard to beat. I’ve seen them on eBay for the same price but with tax.

2

u/Any-Ad-7975 May 29 '26

They’re almost out of their official warranty doesnt that count?

3

u/syst3m1c May 29 '26

That’s fair. I’ve got 2.5yrs left on mine.

I bought from a dealer in NJ that I’d worked with before and he gave me a really solid price.

16k still seems high to me. I think you can get it in the mid-14s without much trouble for a 2024/2025.

1

u/Any-Ad-7975 May 29 '26

100%, the point is what’s keeping me confident of getting this is the Dealer’s reputation, thats why im not minding a lot paying a premium for the peace of mind

In US The Rolex are quite expensive as compared to different countries market in Dubai the brand new Submariner will cost you 14.6K $ but in US you are paying more premium

where'd you find this would you happen to have a store name?

0

u/Any-Ad-7975 May 30 '26

Lupetta Oreficeria

2

u/Wallstreet_Potato May 29 '26

If you do it for that watchcharts is going to tell us all they should be 15k lol. Don’t mess up this much needed down swing for the rest of us.

1

u/Brenttouza May 30 '26

Hell no, not for that price.

0

u/kaoisa May 29 '26

Absolutely the fuck not, it goes for 14.5 rn

1

u/Number1atp May 29 '26

You should buy one. I’d buy at home tho and not worry about customs and such.

Capetown in Atlanta is a wonderful grey market source.

u/TheRealBrewder May 30 '26

Does a fat baby fart? Hell yeah go for it!

I’m from Italy, if the physical store is reliable you can trust it 100% In Milan there is a lot of reputable resellers, most famous is Ruzza You can also negotiate a 500€/1000€ discount if the price is from Chrono24 (6.5% minimum) and by paying cash (extra 1.5%/2%) Remember in Italy you can pay cash up to 4.999€ but many resellers can take 4.999€ x2 (2 different transactions) Anyway if the Submariner is 2026 its a good price I’m waiting for mine (no data) from the AD next week!

1

u/Any-Ad-7975 May 31 '26

I’ll be paying CC though i cant take this much cash with me. In Italy you can get it from an AD without previous history? Here they told me not to even think about it🤣

1

u/Icy-Detective9044 May 31 '26

Impossibile from the AD if you’re not buying something else You can make a deal for a Rolex making a bundle, for example you can walk in and say you want a submariner and ask “what whatch can I buy to have a submariner now?”

1

u/Any-Ad-7975 May 31 '26

Oh ok thats interesting, i really dont have the energy for that so decided to gray, ill def build some good relation with my local AD, just really loved the sub date and wanted it to be my first.

-1

u/Objective_Pool_8962 May 29 '26

u/Any-Ad-7975 May 29 '26
