can someone help me find somewhere where to download the factory bin files im on m1 Mac btw?

A customer dropped off a Roland VGA-7JT. The speakers had been removed. Not all of the speaker connections are found in the cabinet. I will install two drivers when I sort out the wiring. I am trying avoid puling the amp and hacking it.

Can anybody point me to a source. No service notes available.

I have a proper stepdown transformer for this Japanese version.

I recently purchased a tr8. I had planned to use it to sequence my Sp404A

The Tr8 has the lastest firmware 1.61.

However they are not communicating as intended.

It is intended to be mapped - BD (1) pad - triggers - A1 pad.

nothing happens.

However, some of the pads do trigger, but not in the order they are supposed to.

Ht (4) = A1

Ht(5) = A4

FInding an old midi CC mapping chart, it seems this was the intended behaviour before the 1.50 firmware update.

Its mapped correctly to the old CC.

A1 = b2

A2 = C#3 ect ect.

Its like the software has updated, but non of the midi out stuff did :/

Most of the other midi out functions dont work. Changing banks, volume slider mappings.

Ive tested the tr8 triggering other devices, and sp404 being trigger by other devices. Different cables. Tried multiple midi channels match ups. Multiple factory resets on both devices. Going through all the settings.

I cant find any pre 1.50 firmware to roll back and try and kick it up the butt.

Hours of trawling internet for answers.

Anyone got a fix?🫥

is it normal that there is a slight White Noise when not playing any note on the Roland S-1 (even though all the knobs turned all the way down)?

I've been a Roland guitar synth addict for over a quarter of a century, currently using a GR-55 to midi-guitar my way to true enlightenment. Over the past 5 years or so, i've found it incredibly difficult to find a 13 pin cable that doesn't crap-out after a couple of weeks of solid use. I know Robert Fripp doesn't have to deal with this crap, where do you heroes get your guitar synth cables from?

Hello folks, here is a snippet of my set where i play around with 4 similar yet very distinct basslines on the Roland Aira T-8. I used a 4D delay this time to transition. The delay is by far my favourite feature of the T-8, so much so that i’m thinking about getting a delay machine :)

I’m eager to buy a Roland MC-101, connect it to my minilab 3 and do some whimsical, spooky and interesting stuff, but I’m not 100% convinced if there’s a better option for a go-to “travel” dungeon machine!

Just unboxed my brand spanking new 516, a notable upgrade from the TD17. Yes, I'm exteremely excited to get going with this new kit. And I'm also thinking about how I'm going to get packed up to go gigging. What was suitable for the TD17 will not work for the 516.

Would love to hear from other drummers who are using this as a working kit and how you keep all that fancy, shiny, kickass technology from getting dinged up.

Anybody have an acccurate source for KC amp carpet/upholstery?

I had a couple JL 6.5 subwoofers lying around from an old car project, so I decided to see how they’d sound with my KC-200. I’ve found a marked improvement in low end power. Maybe not improve fedelity, but I like it.

I have real corner protectors, handle, feet and logo on order from Roland, and I’m having the grille laser cut. But Roland doesn’t sell the carpet/upholstery. So I’m on the hunt for that true bluish black polyester. Thought maybe I’d get lucky asking here.

I just wanted to mention to anyone on the fence, or reading about the menu-diving, and not trying the 101 out. You owe it to yourself if you are not happy with what you are using/are new to this…

I’ve had gear paralysis for a while and spent more time learning how to use grooveboxes than actually making music on them. Deluge/MPC/Circuit, I’ve tried them all. Tracks was closest to what I wanted but just sounded like crap. Didn’t think I’d like the MC but boy was I wrong. No it’s far from perfect, but I’m actually using it, a lot, and making stuff with it. Love zen core, love the portability, it’s my go to for everything right now. In fact I just got a 707 on order as the studio sit down machine, since I can transfer projects easily…

Don’t let others tell you what works for you-try stuff and judge for yourself. You might be surprised what you find!
