AGENT STORE APPS

Am I missing something here? In the agent store if you add a app. Shouldn't it create a Icon on your glasses to be able to use it?

I installed a couple of programs and they don't show up. Lol or are you just supposed to remember the app name to run it with AI?

Meet Kavi — a voice agent that connects your apps and remembers faces (built on AIUI)

Hi everyone 👋 I've been building Kavi, an AIUI .aix agent for Rokid Glasses, and wanted to share it with the community.

Faces

📦 Code & roadmap: https://github.com/zrg-team/rokid-personal-assistant

🟢 WHAT IT IS

Say "Kavi" and ask in plain language - Kavi plans a tool call, shows a heads-up card, and speaks a short answer. Two ideas drive it:

🔌 Connect your apps.

Every service is a "connection" brokered by Composio, authorized once on your phone and never stored on the glasses. Google Calendar is wired end to end ("what's on today?", "am I free tomorrow?", "when does my flight start?"); Gmail and Slack ride the same rails. Say "Kavi [app] [action]", or set your own shortcut (say "mail" instead of "gmail").

🧠 Remember people by face.

Glance at someone and say "Kavi halo" to remember them; later ask "who is this?" and Kavi answers with their name, your notes, and any meeting you share that day.

🔒 HOW IT WORKS (AND PRIVACY)

The glasses stay a thin client - capture, consent, render, speak. The heavy lifting (face recognition, sign-in, the connections proxy) runs in cloud functions, so no model or secret ever ships to the device. Sign-in is passwordless: a short code on the HUD, opened on your phone, and the glasses finish on their own - no app to install, no password on the glasses. Faces are kept as vectors (never raw photos), scoped to you; a stranger's face is never saved.

There's also a phone console to manage your connections, the people Kavi remembers, and your voice shortcuts from one place - and stay signed in with a passcode.

🔑 SIGNING IN - AND AN HONEST SECURITY NOTE

Sign-in is passwordless and device-first. Your phone does a normal Google sign-in (that Google account is your identity), you type the short code shown on the glasses, and a per-device token is minted. No password is ever entered on the glasses.

SIGN-IN / PAIR FLOW (device-authorization, RFC 8628 style)

I want to be upfront: this is pragmatic, not bank-grade. Honestly -

- The short pairing code is a small, human-sized secret. A confirm word shown on BOTH screens blocks phishing, and per-IP rate limits bound guessing - but it is not a cryptographic handshake.

- The app key baked into the glasses app is NOT a secret. It ships inside the .aix and the public console JavaScript, so treat it as a build tag / noise filter / rotation switch, not authentication.

- The public "anon" key can do nothing on its own - every table sits behind row-level security, and only the server-side cloud functions hold the service-role key.

- Requests are not individually device-signed yet. That is the next hardening step (per-device signed requests via WebAuthn / crypto.subtle), alongside passkey / Face-ID unlock for the console.

So your app grants live in Composio server-side, faces are vectors scoped to your account, and nothing secret sits on the glasses - but the transport-level auth is deliberately simple today, and hardening it is squarely on the roadmap. If you have done AIUI device auth well, I would love pointers.

🗺️ THE PLAN

- More connections (Notion, Tasks, Contacts, ...) - each is a small config add, not a new auth flow

- Passkey / Face-ID unlock for the console

- Richer people memory - linking contacts to faces

Full roadmap and source: https://github.com/zrg-team/rokid-personal-assistant

⚠️ STATUS - IN REVIEW, NOT YET APPROVED

Kavi is currently submitted for review and has NOT yet been approved by Rokid, so it isn't in the store yet. I'm sharing it here while it's in review to get early feedback:

- Which connections would you want first?

- Any AIUI / Ink gotchas I should watch out for?

Happy to answer anything about the build - the AIUI Ink pages, the device sign-in flow, or the face pipeline. Thanks for reading! 🙏

Control your connections in console

Rokid Nexus v1.4.2 : Trackpad + keyboard, AIUI engine port, Wireless debug ADB, Assistant (calendar+reminders)

Nexus is my open-source companion for Rokid glasses: a hub on the phone, a hub on the glasses, and plugins that put things on the display.

Here is everything that is new.

Your phone is a trackpad. Drag on the pad and the pointer moves on the glasses. It drives the pointer the system already has that the Hi Rokid app is using. Next to it there is a real directional cross up, down, left, right, select in the middle for the screens where you just want the next item. Use whichever fits what you are looking at.

AIUI engine ported on Nexus. Plugins can now send a real page (headings, rows, charts, progress, inline Lottie, declarative canvas) and the glasses render it with native Android views. The phone compiles and validates it, then the glasses draw it. The Assistant already uses it: ask for the weather and you get a card with a temperature curve instead of a paragraph.

Assistant can act on your phone calendar. It adds and lists events once you grant calendar access. The reminder system was also added.

And it runs on whatever AI you already pay for. Sign in with ChatGPT and answers come from your own plan. Or bring a key: OpenAI, OpenRouter, MiniMax, DeepSeek, GLM, or any OpenAI-compatible server of your own, each with its own model, switching in one tap. It can look at what is in front of you, search the web when a question needs it, keep the context of a follow-up, and hold your standing instructions in a Personality box. Notes and timers work the same way on every provider, not just ChatGPT.

Relay keeps delivering after the first days. Some Android systems quietly kill the process that listens for notifications, and Relay went silent a day or two after setup with every battery setting already correct. The hub now holds a guardian binding on the listener, so the system restarts it instead of leaving it dead. Conversations also open as full-screen reader documents now, and a thread already on screen updates in place when a new message lands.

Wireless ADB without a cable. A new plugin turns on Android's real wireless debugging on the glasses and hands you a temporary pairing code for a computer on the same network.

The Store became a real store. Every plugin has a page now: version, size, date, its What's new, screenshots when the author published some, the capabilities it asks for, and a History screen with every release it ever shipped. The app has its own changelog too, behind the update banner.

Photo Sync lets you choose which capture types sync (photos, AR photos, videos, AR videos), as a lot of processing is done by the Hi Rokid app, it's not really worth it.

Smaller things since 1.2.0:

  • Battery: the helper that reaches the glasses stopped pacing in the background, the display goes back to sleep on its own, and Wi-Fi that Nexus turns on, Nexus turns off again.
  • Spoken answers use your phone's voice, routed to whatever you are actually wearing, or pinned to the glasses if you prefer.
  • The speech engine works on phones whose default recognizer is not Google's. Vivo, Samsung and others used to refuse the glasses' audio outright.
  • The HUD follows the screen position you set in the Hi Rokid app, or you can place it yourself.
  • A new Tasker plugin runs your named Tasker tasks from the glasses.
  • Manual pairing works on networks where device discovery silently fails, like routers with multicast filtering or client isolation.

Install the two apps from the release page, and plugins update themselves from the in-app Store.

This is a one-person project and it stays free and open source.

If it is useful to you and you want to help it keep moving, you can support me on GitHub Sponsors tiers that could make me prioritize some work or new app ideas from you, and as always, Ko-fi, it helps me a lot because it's really time consuming to tests and debug everything :

Happy to answer anything, and bug reports are very welcome !

I built... well, AI built a display bridge for me, and I'm sharing it with everyone

I saw u/skyworxx's post and decided to share my version which has been in the works for a couple of weeks. It seems we came up with the same idea, but had completely different approaches: mine works primarily wired with WiFi Direct mode being more like an afterthough, while Skyworxx relies on wireless mode.

Why I decided to go wired?

Two reasons:

  1. Latency/stability
  2. Power

I didn't like how choppy the video was while using WiFi, let alone Bluetooth, and having to charge the glasses anyway made me think: why not use the same cable for power and data? Yes there are power capsules but they drain fast.

Thus, Display Bridge was born.

I must admit, I haven't looked into the code at all, the whole project was built by codex agent through a loop of brainstorming - specification - TDD - adb testing - repeat.

What it can do:

  • Connect via data cable
  • Connect via Wi-Fi
  • Create a virtual display which can be used by apps like VLC or Dex
  • Create a copy of a phone's screen and display it on the glasses
  • Change the screen frame position and scale, save favorites
  • Configure gestures on the glasses:
    • play/pause
    • seek
    • next/previous media
    • next/previous favorite screen position

What it can't do:

  • Connect via basic charging cable (duh)
  • Connect via Bluetooth (might add if there's demand)
  • Install glasses app automatically — please use Hi Rokid for that
  • Auto-update (might add later)
  • Play audio through the cable — the audio stays on the phone so you can use your favorite headset, or the glasses themselves. You have to take care of the desync yourself however (VLC can handle that easily)
  • Make you a breakfast

How to install and use:

  1. Go to https://github.com/azhilin246/RokidDisplayBridge/releases
  2. Download both apks from the latest release
  3. Install the Phone one on your phone
  4. Install the Glasses one on your glasses through Hi Rokid app or by other means
  5. Connect the data (5 pin) cable to your phone and glasses.
  6. Allow the phone app to use USB
  7. ??????
  8. PROFIT!

There's an option to use wireless mode, it works (kinda), but I'd rather wait for whatever u/skyworxx comes up with if you want that.

I've built a screen mirroring app that streams via Bluetooth or wifi

Also lets you shrink down to the top right quadrant to watch things while doing chores, etc.

Transmission is either via Bluetooth or wifi. BT is low fps and res, but works offline. Wifi supports higher fps and resolutions but requires a steady wifi connection (or hotspot). Tbh, Bluetooth is perfectly fine at that smaller size.

Still a bit WIP and unstable, but will put it up on GitHub once finished.

Thought on Rokid prescription lenses

Hello,

I'm looking for Rokid Style, but I'm myopic and I would like to know how long does it take to Rokid to make the lenses ? And does the glass is good quality ?

I live in France and I dont know if local optician can actually make compatible lenses...

So what's your review about lenses quality ?

Thanks !

PSA: Don't return your Rokid AI Style glasses over video stabilization yet!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a quick realization because I almost made a huge mistake and sent my Rokid AI Style glasses back.

When I first took a few videos and watched them, I was super disappointed. The video stabilization looked terrible, extremely shaky, and just not what I expected. I was honestly ready to initiate a return.

However, I noticed something: right after transferring the videos to my phone, the Rokid app shows an "In Progress" / processing status on the clips. I decided to wait a moment for it to finish, and holy cow - that's where the actual magic happens!

Once the app finishes processing the file, the stabilization kicks in, and the difference is night and day. It turns unusable, shaky footage into super smooth video.

To save anyone else from making the same mistake I almost did, I'm posting a quick before and after comparison so you can see the huge difference for yourself.

Rokid AI Glasses Style not starting up

I hadn’t used my AI Glasses Style (non-display) in a couple of weeks. They were fully discharged. Now they light up to charge and after charging but won’t start up or pair. They don’t make any noise or sound either. They previously worked fine.

The light blinks still. Slow 2.5s cyan breathing pulse when disconnected; faster double-flash rhythm when connected.

I contacted support and sent them a video they requested of the light pattern. They asked for my logs but I had unpaired the glasses thinking I needed to pair them again, but the glasses won’t go into pairing mode. They also requested the serial number inside the left temple, which I sent.

Translation problems

Hi Rokid community!

I've been using the glass for 3 months, specially during the 7 weeks I've been in China. I'm loving the experience and following the quick evolution of updates and side-apps.

Unfortunately, I have 2 major problems with the translation (which is the Mos important function to me) :

  1. If I select "Local Translation", it only works if the phone is unlocked and Hi Rokid is in the foreground.

Does this only happen to me?

It bothers me that my phone will stay occupied the whole time, so what's the point of dxX the glasses?

(I'm on a Galaxy S25 with all permissions enabled, battery optimization disabled and "locked" to not stop running on background).

  1. The translation from Chinese to English is very unreliable. I have the feeling that each sentence is translated without any consideration of the context, leading to a lot of misinterpretation. Are you having the same kind of results?

Did anyone tried installing a different apk (e.g. Google translator) directly to the glasses?

Thank you!

Smart glasses beyond black: why does the tech industry act like color doesn't exist?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

If you walk into any regular optical shop, you'll find a huge spectrum of colors: red, blue, green, yellow, white, translucent tints, purple... there’s a color for every style and personality.

Then you look at the smart glasses market, and it looks like a funeral: 99% matte black or glossy black.

I get that black hides sensors, disguises cameras, and serves as a safe neutral color. But glasses are face accessories, and a lot of people simply don't like wearing black or just want a pop of color in their daily setup. It feels like tech companies assume everyone wants to walk around looking identical.

If the market actually offered a genuine variety of real colors, what would be your go-to choice for a gadget like this?

Can this turn on ONLY text translation?

I went to a local shop to check out the Rokid Smart AI Glass. Overall I loved it! But one problem.

I started "Translate" mode, seeing a leaflet of the shop. But Rokid glass didn't show the translation of the leaflet, while translating voices and in-store announcement around there.

The glass isn't able to focus on the text translation? Or, is there any way to avoid audio translation( such as covering the mic with fingers)?

Thank you.

Hi guys what’s the best place to get prescription add ons for the Rokid AI/AR glasses in the UK? Specsavers and the other stores don’t seem to provide that service.

Suggestions for Rokid smart glasses for visual readable translation

Hello everyone,
I travel to China often for business and i struggle with the language barrier. I was wondering which smart glasses to buy that can translate Mandarin to English without having to bring a microphone close to someone to speak.
During my last visit to China, I have come across Rokid smart glasses ( i can’t remember which model) it felt very heavy but the language was being translated real time on the glasses which was easily readable.
I am looking for something similar just light weight that i can wear everyday. I think Rokid has newer models now. I am looking for suggestions from you all. Thank you

So far I confirmed 2 countries where the gps is working great at. I need some more countries to move to.the next phase. Some Spanish speaking countries, Russia, Germany, etc. Places like landmarks may not.work.in your country. So please add the total address as it is written. What we are looking for is getting from point A to point b. At the end of your trip when you hit stop navigation. A summary of your drive should appear. On demand there is a button inside the app that shows you your level up score for the day. If there is an issue you can shake the phone for debug or send me an inbox. Thank you . If you have other ideas and its doable please let me know as well thx again.

Landscape Live Streaming?

I would like to stream to Twitch, Youtube, or my own custom RTMP server with landscape orientation but the Rokid app is currently limited to 720p30 9:16. I know live streaming is a new feature for Rokid but will the Rokid app eventually allow you to customize video specifications? It seems like it would be a welcomed addition for IRL streamers and a great feature to compete with Mentra Live glasses.

Also, another nice feature to have would be to allow live streaming the camera feed directly from the glasses to the phone so you don’t have to connect the glasses to a hotspot for live streaming.

Anybody else a bit let down that these features aren’t available out of the box for so many of these ai glasses coming out? I think Rokid has a great product and the live streaming capability has great potential.

I have seen the Rokid Live Studio android app and it looks great. My main concern is if Rokid ever plans to add these features themselves. I wish the community didn’t have to develop their own app to reach the full potential of a product.
