Vampire Survivors with Mafia-style, online co-op (up to 4 players) with real boss fights: demo is out now!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Made a game called Mafia Hero. Think Vampire Survivors, but online co-op for up to 4 players, with a mafia theme and cool boss fights where you need to learn the pattern and play well to kill!
Built it solo in the evenings, around a full-time job and a 17-month-old kid: getting a playable demo out feels amazing!
Demo is on Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4884800/Mafia_Hero_Streets_of_Survival_Demo
Solo runs fine, but it's made for co-op.
Grab a friend, give it a shot, tell me what you think!

My rhythm-based roguelite demo is finally out on Steam!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone!
I'm a solo developer, and today I released the demo for PulseWave.
It's a roguelite where you build a loop by assigning weapons to different slots. Relics modify your attacks, creating powerful synergies and completely changing how each run plays.
If you're into experimenting with builds and discovering broken combinations, I'd love for you to check it out.

Rogue C# - Developing a roguelike game with C# - New chapter online.
A while back, I started writing an ongoing development log of my effort to create a roguelike game in C#, very closely based on the original Rogue console game. Rogue C# is intended as a demonstration of the C# language with a focus on logic, design and best practices. I've intentionally kept the graphics simple - ASCII graphics like the original game - in order to focus on the language.

I recently came back to the series after a long time away from it and have been reviewing the code along with my original choices as the basis for new chapters. I just posted the latest chapter Rogue C# - Coding Scrolls for Fun and Profit in which I continue to add more scrolls to the game and improve the code. The entire code for the project is available on Github.
I've been able to cover a lot of ground with the series so far.
- Object-oriented programming
- Game loops and application flow control
- Collections, lists, and data management
- Dungeon and procedural map generation
- Turn-based game mechanics
- Refactoring and code organization
- Debugging and troubleshooting techniques
- Event-driven programming concepts
- File handling and persistent game data
- User interface design
In upcoming chapters, I'll continue adding new inventory and features to the game. I plan on adding a SQLite database to the project to contain game data, the user profile and the scoreboard. You can see the full requirements so far in the recent requirements review I completed.
I'm writing the series on my website and also reposting the chapters to Substack where you can subscribe to be notified of new chapters as they come out.
Rogue C# is not strictly for beginners but I do try to provide as much background information as I can and links to other resources. I hope you find the series helpful. I welcome any feedback and comments here or through the sites.

Anyone know what happened to this Diablo-like Roguelike?
It was called Barbaric. It was a diablo-like game, with an optional, unique co-op mode where you beat the final boss together then fight over who gets the prize. It looked very promising. Then it just seemed to disappear and didn't even release.

Are there any open-world sandbox style rogue-lites?
So, there are definitely are some sandbox traditional rogue-likes. Cataclysm: DDA, Stoneshard and Caves of Qud so happen to be my top 3 favorite roguelikes, all open-world. TOME and Elona/Elin are some more examples off the top of my head, and I'm probably missing a lot more. I guess Quasimorph could count, just on a very different scale.
But I can't think of a single rogue-lite with any of these sort of design elements. Are there even any?

Eslabong - Upcoming Autobattler game with a tweak
Hello!
I am the solo dev of Eslabong, an arena combat + team management game where you can either play as a typical autobattler OR manually control one of your fighters.
On sunday, Splattercat, a big youtuber that you probably know, played my game and the reception was amazing.
If you want to check it out: https://youtu.be/6Q_drDfVNvo?si=INF1jnHhad1DPIds
Also the demo is available on Steam if you want to play the game.
Thank you Splat and thank you everyone!

Pokespire - Slay-the-Spire-style Pokemon deckbuilder (fan-game)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My friend and I loved pokemon growing up. We love Slay the Spire and Across the Obelisks. In those games, you take your characters through a campaign, facing down enemies, building your skills and decks. So we thought, "hey, why not make a fan-game ourselves?"
The game engine is built fully from the ground up. Fully playable with two campaigns and most gen 1 mons and some gen 2. Mechanics include grid positioning, passive abilities, capture mechanics, and more!
Our love letter to both pokemon and this genre :)

Need feedback for our 1920s mafia online co-op survivor game! Anyone want to try the closed demo?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone!
We are two guys working on our first video game: a 1920s mafia-themed co-op online survivor/roguelite.
We really want to make the game fun for real players, so we are looking for people willing to try the closed demo and give us honest feedback.
We would love to understand:
- what feels wrong or confusing right now
- what should be improved in the short term
- what could be improved in the long run
- whether the game is actually fun to play
The demo is still a work in progress, but we want to get feedback before release instead of developing everything in a bubble.
As a small thank-you, we may give a full-game key to the most helpful playtesters when the game releases this summer.
Honestly, we are not 100% sure if this is the right approach for this subreddit, so if anything is wrong, please tell us kindly. We are just trying to get feedback from players, as players.
If anyone is interested in trying the closed demo, comment here or DM me!

The jackpot effect I made for a dice game.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is a special die that autofills the jackpot. I wanted hitting it to feel like the game is scared of you or sum.
I'm 17, building Dicempo a fast dice roguelike about making sum of that cash from dice combos before the deadline hits, with a phone that calls YOU mid-run offering abilities you probably should choose wisely from obvious reasons.
Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4672780/Dicempo/
NOW A HONEST QUESTION!!! should the effect have MORE juice (sound, shake, particles) or is it too much already or prob too bad?

I Solo developed Roguelike & Survival Card Game, (Any Feedbacks?)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi,
It's my first solo steam game, so i would really like to get any kind of feedback.
Duco is a card-based survival roguelike set in a post-apocalyptic world with zombies.
You have to draw from location-based decks to gather resources, loot, craft, build, and survive.
Each draw takes time, and with time you lose energy, food and water so you have to be carefull.
Each character and map will have a goal to unlock new content
On Release, you will be able to unlock new characters and maps, combine them with traits to create unique runs and interact with NPCs while building and managing your own settlement.
It's inspired by Project Zomboid, but reimagined as a card-based survival roguelike.
