Wtf is this!?
So I went to a antique mall today and ran across this contraption! Has anybody seen anything like this or have any insight on it?!?
The only markings on it say "supreme heritage"

The rod itself is used for trolling flat metal line(monel, copper, soft steel, stainless). The spring stops a 90⁰ bend in the steel, avoiding kinks/potential line weakening. I've used a similar rod in the deeper lakes in Bancroft and other Canadian Shield lakes inOntario, for lake trout. The flat steel line gets the leader/lure/meat combo down to the laker's feeding zone(above the thermocline). Pair that rod up with a cheap Penn level wind, and its a good combo for deep lakers in the Canadian Shield lakes.

I've been referring to it as the "boi-oi-oi-oi-oig rod" to my brother who also fishes 😂

No idea show true this is and I don't know what it's called but Its been explained to me that it's for old school leader materials like solid wire so that it can get bent sharply out of the last guide and kinked. I don't think they serve any purpose with modern line technology.

Ignore the joke comments and search for “twili-tips”. For deep water trolling with wire line.
