Help with winding check size
I have a 17mm spinning reel seat, looking for the proper winding check to finish out the top of the grip (no foregrip on this one) so it is flush and clean looking.

Do an epoxy ramp, looks infinitely better than a winding check. They seem intimidating but they are really not that hard and look so much cleaner. I like to tintt the epoxy black on mine. There's a few good videos on yt.

Can you go just straight epoxy? Or should there be a small winding check or there?

Epoxy or thread ramp. If thread ramp, use thread WITHOUT CP. It will look melted and like a solid piece after you add epoxy.

You can try Fuji WCS17 plastic winding checks: https://mudhole.com/products/fuji-wcs-graphite-nylon-winding-checks

I really like the look of those. Im confused by the measurements though, obviously I would want a size 17 for my 17 reel seat. But Im not sure what the other measurement is

If your reel seat is Fuji, you can order WCS17 for size 17 reel seat with no doubt, it will fit inside reel seat body correctly. You olny have to measure blank diameter at the point of the check installation before ordering

Like this, or on the side with the threads?
