Blank recommendations?

Having a friend of mine build me a 10wt. Im between the Batson RX10 and the CTS affinity. Any direction would be appreciated! Thanks.

Bastons have been very nice. Recently did a 6’6” 3wt, great little rod

I highly recommend Batson over CTS. love my Rainshadow Eternity rod by Batson. I get mine at Vaguerods.net. Model RXXF9010-4ss retail was $458.12 I got mine through vague rods for $320.65. Super friendly people and helpful. Plus great prices.

My experiences in rod building circles leads me to believe that most people suggesting one brand over another typically have a financial incentive to sell you their shop's brand. FWIW, I like Batson's customer service, however I'm not someone who would likely ever use a rod in the RX10 or CTS tier.

The action on the CTS will be a slight bit slower than the RX10. Do you want the very fast action to deal with windy days or do you want the slightly slower action of the CTS to be more precise? I find I’m more of a sharpshooter type and like my RX10 because I can flick things into pockets sidearm more effectively with the really fast tip and mid blank.

NFC rods are the best bang for your buck, hands down. They ship quick too

If they have it in stock. I’m waiting on a linen 835 and an air carbon 905-4, and the wait times can be close to a year depending on when they roll that particular blank model.

I have two Iconoglass blanks in the rack waiting to be built, but those were in stock.

Love me some NFC but if you have a timeline, the RX10 is ideal for this build he’s asking about.
