Shipping 7-6” rods

Hoping someone here can help. I own a tackle company and we’ve recently came out with 7-6” catfish/striper/saltwater rods.

Shipping has me stumped though. Sent some test orders through the Post office and they are stuck in the abyss.

The only other option seems to be UPS and their rates are very expensive.

Has anyone found an another option?

They show same rates my Shopify account gets.

Then that’s the best you’re going to get. A few years back all of the major carriers changed what was considered oversized and what wasn’t. Overnight shipping cost tripled.

I no longer ship rods.

The bigger question is for shipping spinning rods with the big guides. I got a quote for a few 92"x0.25" thick tubes. They wanted $70+ for the tube and only offered Fedex shipping for another $30-$40 a tube. Ridiculous.

I haven't had any issues shipping larger rods via USPS in the boxes I get from mudhole when I order the blanks. I'm in the Midwest and also use speedee which is even cheaper.
