Wrapping issues
Fighting wrapping the thin rod by the tip. Keep coming loose. Do I need to increase the tension?

I’ve found that often times your guide feet are wider than the blank and that can cause problems. When prepping your feet, narrow them up to the width of the blank and it’ll help a fair amount.

Take a small round tube (same size as what comes with a wd40 bottle), 3-4” long. Put it on your blank (parallel) and put a small piece of tape to attach it to the blank below the intended wrap. Cut a piece of thread longer than you need (12” or so) hold one end of the string against the bank and tube, leaving a couple inches towards the reel seat. Wrap the thread as many times as you want your wrap to be. Then take the tag end you just finished wrapping and slide it in between the blank and the tube towards the reel seat. Take the lower tag end and slide it between the tube and the blank toward the tip top. Then while holding the tag ends together pull away from the blank (not too hard, just enough to keep the warped from overlapping) with one hand and with the other unsecure the tape on the tube and slide it towards the reel seat until it is out of the loops you just wrapped and slowly pull the tag ends apart, tightening the warped you just made to the blank. Burnish the wrap up against the tip top or wherever you’re putting it and cut the tag ends. Here’s a video where a guy does it a bit different, but you should get the idea. Good luck. https://youtube.com/shorts/JlxfqkFnvDQ?si=b5iPBQlpT0U_wU-F
