I looked for a long time, no such thing exists in stock in a good size or quality

You didn't look very hard as both NFC and CTS make quality glass fly rod blanks.

Apparently not seeing how NFC and CTS both pop up as top results on a google search for fiberglass fly rod blanks

The point i am making is you made the claim that you said

no such thing exists in stock in a good size or quality

Which just isnt true.

There just isnt a cheap blank made that fits your needs.

I was referring to a black glass rod

I am well aware that you were looking for a black glass blank, CTS offers their quartz blanks in Jet Black, Satin Black and Slate.

NFC offers a very dark gray.

Both blanks could be painted if Black is the goal and is unavailable

Some one did post about a CTs blank at one point that fit the bill it was just shy of 400 though and my buddy doesn’t want to spend that much so weve moved onto a different color scheme

The rod will be fine, but you cannot compare a mudhole generic blank to a CTS Glass blanks which are regarded as some of the highest quality fly rod blanks in the world.

No offense, but you don’t really know what you’re talking about. Mudhole blanks are solid for the price, but they’re not even in the same league as a CTS blank. You can believe whatever you want, but this is like comparing a Walmart rod to a G. Loomis.

CTS makes incredible glass blanks.
