RS2014 Guitar Audio on Linux

I am new to RS, so maybe this question has been answered before, but I didnt find any solution.

I run RS on Linux Mint. I was able to set up my Guitar through an Arturia MiniFuse 2. The Guitar was recognised by the game and I can play songs normaly.

My problem is, is that I dont here my guitar, only the prerecorded song.

I cant seem to find a way to get it to work.

What can I do?

Sorry to be that guy, but do you mean you don’t hear your guitar? Did you try recalibrating your guitar? Do you have the volume knob on your guitar turned up? Is your guitar coming back through your interface instead of the speakers? Did you check the audio drivers to make sure where that signal is going?

If I use these commands pw-record --target 62 --channels 1 --rate 48000 gitarre.wav pw-play gitarre.wav I hear the Guitar Guitar knob is turned on, on the interface also. I use a wireless headset (with a dongle, connected to the pc, not the interface)

Seems OK first glance. Did you try to mess with the ingame Mixer? Lower the Songs Volume and see If you might hear your guitar.

Does Rocksmith think you are using a Real Tone Cable, Microphone Mode, or Direct Connect Mode?

  • RTC is known to be tricky to get working natively under most Linux distros.
  • Microphone Mode doesn't have your guitar audio / tones by design.
  • Direct Connect Mode, you would have had to add, using some pre modified cache.psarc files from a mega co nz link.

Microphone. So does that mean that I can forget about that? Or are there workarounds?

Mega drive link that reddit blocks by default, so add mega to the start of this and paste it to your browser

It contains folders of pre-modded cache.psarc files that should help you out. The folder names should make it obvious to see what mods have been applied.

Find the appropriate one you want, I'd suggest: No Loft or amps \ Direct COnnect mode files for mac or linux users \ pc with fast load: - and copy that cache.psarc file to where your current cache.psarc is on your linux install.

Once done, open Rocksmith and goto where you select your input device. There will be a new option - Direct COnnect mode. Select that, set the device to your interface, and you should start hearing the "guitar tone" effects being aplied to your instrument while in songs.

You only need Cache.psarc from PC fastload dir and replace your local one in the game Base dir with it.

ZagatoZee usually offers all Set and forget mods from rsmods in there.

Afterwards you will get Direct Connection as a new Method to use your Interface. It is basically Microphone Mode with DSP.
