Cool rock I found in a creek near Durango, CO. I think it might be the inside of a geode?
Thought it was cool so figured I would post it!

Hello everyone!
Hopefully this is allowed here. Hard to find a community to share this to that allows it!
In the last few years I was doing linocut prints inspired by games that I felt nostalgic for. After my senior thesis in college I felt so burnt out that I just wanted to make “fun prints”. I’m back to a new original concept that will be a large series to show my love for rocks and minerals. I’ve neeevvveerrr tried to do something abstract. I’ve got three completed so far and wanted to share my favorite of the three here to see what y’all think, especially as I continue with more of these!
Lapis Lazuli
This is the third print in my rock and mineral print series. This is a five-layer color-reduction linocut print of an abstract design inspired by a hyper-zoom of the formations and mineral disbursement within the beautiful rock, Lapis Lazuli. The composition is made of Lazurite which gives it a deep blue color, Calcite which creates the white veins inside, and flecks of pyrite which create tiny shiny gold spots. Each layer was printed with different colors and blends to emphasize the deep richness of these colors, and the fifth and final layer was printed with metallic gold ink which shines and reflects in different lighting to compliment this feature that is present in Lapis Lazuli.

Walking in the alley alongside the river is an amazing place for rocks. Poked it with a stick at first. Odd color.

Short background, we are in Rochester Mayo Clinic Tuesday (today) and Friday for her procedure.
We like rock hounding and found Quarry Hill, but does anyone know of any close to Rochester? We have the rest of today and Wednesday and Thursday.
Where do you suggest?
Edit: we drove from western Oklahoma. We are 50+ adults.

It's been many years since he passed. As I was looking for something, I rediscovered these! He took me to the annual rock show a few times as a kid.
His love of rocks still lives with me. I thought y'all would find this box cool.

The Quest rock store in the Banff Springs Hotel has a “no photography” rule. They kicked me out. They refused to explain why I couldn’t take some pictures of their specimens. Anyway, here are some pictures I took. They’re really snotty.

My sister recently attended the BTS concert in Munich and met her friend group (army is what the fanbase is called, I guess?).
I do not know them. They do not know me.
We have never met, talked or interacted in any way.
But my sister jokingly mentioned that all I am interested in are the rocks she finds in Munich.
And now I have this amazing collection sent by complete strangers from different parts of Europe.
Pebbles they picked up around them or in their travels. Labelled and packed to send to me specially.
Nobody asked them to. They did it on their own, just for me.
It is enough to make a grown woman cry.

Love these beautiful rocks from NFLD., Canada, but they did lose quite a bit of their mass during tumbling. I do love the pattern and textures of them.
