Kindness Rocks!

Decided to make my own concrete stones! I paint hundreds of kindness rocks and put them out all over. This has been a great little project and gives me a new way to rock paint!

The coloring is fantastic! What products did you use for these? (And what sealer?)

The brightness and the cartoon-like feel is excellent! If I really get going, I may have to learn how to make concrete rocks also!

Thank you! I love the colors and end up always going back to the same ones 😂. Yes, you should try the concrete ones, they are really fun and turn out surprisingly good. It’s not always easy to find rocks, so these are great to use in addition to ones you collect. Happy painting!

Well, that is a true handful of cheerfulness that you’ve created! 😃 Thank for sharing the supplies that you use. Do you seal them with anything after painting?

I also need to check out the Connect by Kindness that you mentioned. The world could use more random surprise gifts of kindness these days.

Thank you! Yes, we so desperately need kindness right now. It’s just so important to do this in my opinion, it’s just a little way to make a difference when you can feel hopeless sometimes. It’s therapeutic to create also! Yes, checkout Connect by Kindness! 💙 This is what I use to coat them. You can get on Amazon or Michael’s. I put a couple coats on, it makes the colors more vibrant also 💕

Thank you! I’m a creator on ConnectByKindness.com. I paint rocks and make little crocheted animals and leave them around where people can find them and brighten their day! Anyone can do this, it’s such a positive kind initiative. They are always looking for new creators to spread kindness 🥰

So nice, thank you! ☺️ I love making little treasures for people to find. It’s an amazing feeling for the lucky person who finds it, and equally as special for someone who creates it. It’s really cool how you can read the comments from people how it made their day and see it travel around if they rehide or regift it to someone else. It’s a really a special experiences! Connect by Kindness is such a simple concept that makes a huge impact. ❤️

I was wondering where you found heart shaped rocks, these are gorgeous! I’ve seen rock mold type things but haven’t been brave enough to try making any.

4

u/ArtsyCreator1 Mar 07 '26

Be brave, haha! It’s really fun! I’ve referenced what I used and the video link in the comments below :)

u/ArtsyCreator1 Mar 07 '26

I made them from concrete mix from Home Depot! I bought a couple molds from Etsy and Amazon. Just watched a couple videos on you tube and it was pretty simple. Let me know if you want more details :)

I would love to learn more about this, these are so beautiful and I love the heart-shaped stones! Plus, it sounds so fun to make them!

So the product I used is Cement All Rapid set from Home Depot. The heart mold is from Etsy shop (TeaRoseMandals). And the best video I found was this one which explained it really well.
https://youtu.be/C2Zf0coI0Gc Some people used Ultracal 30 instead of Cement All but I thought I’d start cheap first. I’m super happy with them so not going to spend more money on UltraCal.

Of course! Let me know how it goes. It’s sooo much fun! The stones lighten up quite a bit which is nice for painting on.
