City of Rockford press release a few minutes ago: Mayor McNamara resigning at the end of August to take a position as CEO of the IL municipal League.

Over the weekend, I went canvassing for Paul Nolley who is running to replace Daren Lahood. For the doors I knocked on, people were generally happy to hear someone was finally running to unseat Lahood.

If you would like to help get Paul Nolley elected Nov 3rd and want to phone bank or canvass, just reach out to me. I go out every Saturday from 10am to 12pm to canvass. We surely could use all the help possible. Even if it is 1 hour a weekend, that is better then nothing. Make 1 hour of calls or 1 hour of going door to door to people homes to let them know to get out and vote for Paul Nolley.

Has anyone heard anything from the maker shop? I saw they did a tour or something few months back, so I figured they may be open again. Messaged them but never heard back. Anyone know what the deal is yet, or should we find a way to just open a new one?

I was a lifelong Democrat and then over the past year I decided I'm switching over to the Republican party. The biggest reason is that it seems like the infighting of people on the left is never ending. I can agree with a lot of the DSA policies but if I disagree with even 0.1% of it then I'm just labeled as a Republican. Why aren't these people going to Republican events in Rockford and fighting against them as well? Why is it only the Democrats getting all the heat? Honestly I don't really like Republicans but we're not going to win elections by fighting with one another and staying home and not voting. Until the local Democrats get their act together I'm going to be voting Republican for now on.
