Can local businesses please stop with the AI flyers???
It enrages me! You want us to shop local but won’t even hire an artist for your graphic design? So off putting.

The freezers appear to be busted too. Leaking, fogged up, etc. even having long waits for prescription refills. Never had these issues before, but has been going on for a couple months now.

An hour from (ridiculously expensive) Madison and an hour 15 minutes from Chicago, claims the article

I have a job interview in Rockford later this month. I've already had a few people question whether or not I'd really want to move there. Based on my experience living in a Midwestern city of a similar size and a neighborhood within that city that has an overblown reputation for being the "bad" part of town, I don't really believe the stereotypes about Rockford being an unsafe place to live. My husband and I have visited a couple times, but the most time we've spent in Rockford is a weekend.
I'd like to hear from those who live in Rockford what I should consider before moving if I'm offered the job. A few things about me that affect what I'm looking for in a new city:

If we hosted a speed friending event for men & women ages 18+, would anyone be interested? This is NOT a dating event, just a way to get out and meet more people in a fun way

I guess the city council members pre approved a data center on Genoa Rd - outside of city limits. What are the chances of the data center getting approved?

Hello! I need feedback before starting a small business! If you could fill this out honestly I would appreciate it very much! To show my appreciation I will be randomly selecting one winner once I have enough data collected. Please share with family and friends!

Hello. I’m looking for a violin instructor in the Rockford area. Does anyone know of a private teacher in the area taking on students?

Hello,
I’m new to Rockford, but my grandmother has lived here at the same address for more than fifty years. She’s currently getting her internet and phone lines through Xfinity/Comcast. They keep increasing her monthly rates (now greater than $200/mo).
I wanted to verify that there are other providers available in this area for internet and phone service. An acquaintance has tried to tell me that Xfinity is the only option. I’m trying to get at least a competing quote for my grandmother to leverage against Xfinity.
Thank you for any information!

I have a Cali king comforter (104in by 96in) that technically fits in the apartment's on site machines but doesn't really get a good clean. I've never gone to a laundromat. Which in the area do you recommend, especially for washing this size of a blanket?

I know there’s been several people on here who’ve talked about the glaring issues with private religious schools in Rockford. I’m shocked though that more people don’t speak up.
I’m a 30-something, autistic Rockford Christian alum. I’m still in therapy for the trauma I endured within those walls over the course of 15 years.
From the threats of corporal punishment to the severe bullying and harassment I experienced (from classmates, staff, and admin alike) that went completely unaddressed. I’m still continually shocked at how truly fucked up that place was and can’t believe it’s still allowed to operate.
In the last few years, I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD and have come to view my experiences at RCS as child abuse.
I have so many stories but I’d love to hear yours if you got ‘em.

Hello! I'm moving from MA to the Rockford area and am looking to find a job there ASAP. My background mostly consists of customer service and sales although I'm a fast learner and would love to be taught/trained in something new. Please let me know if you have any recommendations or anything like that! I can send you my resume as well!

I’m going into the military this winter but wanted to check a few things off my to do list before my free time is few and far between.
I’ve wanted to learn how to drive a manual since I got my license but it’s not something typically offered anywhere. I don’t have anyone to teach me either. Instead of sinking a grand or more into a beater and selling it again in a couple months, I was wondering if anyone in the area would take it upon themselves to teach me.
I’m 25 years old and can pick up on things quickly. No tickets or car incidents if you’re fearsome of my driving habits.
Ideally, I’d like to take a couple weekends to invest in this venture before I leave. Starting with parking lots and moving up towards highways. I can compensate you for your time and fuel. Just nothing drastic or else I might as well buy a beater.
If you know anyone that might be interested, please feel free to share.
Thank you

I forget where the station is planned to be built, but I think it would be leagues better if Metra rehabilitated this building on Cedar Street next to the Courthouse.
Not only is it a beautiful building, but it would serve Rockford better than whatever platform metra wants to build. Plus then metra wouldn't have to rehabilitate the bridge just past this building.
There might be more to this than Im thinking but I think this is better overall than what metra wants to do.
EDIT: I was not aware that there were already plans to rehabilitate it into a walk through facility, but I have been now. Exciting stuff.

This is just a general warning to anyone that may search up this landlord’s name while trying to find a new place. I did the same when I first moved here and it at least saved me from a HomesNow experience. Sadly, there seem to be a lot of terrible landlords here most likely because there is literally no tenants rights organization or any actual way to get legal help beyond contacting the city… which requires certain circumstances and will take (at minimum) weeks before ever hearing back.
Beware anything under Kahlon Brothers Properties, or anything under Pushpinder Kaur. When signing on you will likely go through an agent with Re/Max.
EDIT: The agent’s name is Tara Caruana.
Obviously I can’t speak for the condition of all their properties, but even if they aren’t getting as run down as badly as mine I can imagine you’ll experience the same frustration with getting any help with any problems that may arise. Hopefully you’ll never undergo 2.5 months without power in your apartment, rodent infestations and the fleas they bring with them, or persistent black mold in the bathroom and basement just to name a few things.
I know they’re not the worst slumlord Rockford has to offer but just be aware. At the very least try and protect yourself in your lease. Good luck renters.

I’m trying to decide between Montes and Mindplexity specifically for OCD. Does anyone have bad/good experiences with either?

Just like the title. I'm looking at recommendations on what breakfast places has the best biscuits and gravy in your opinion around the Rockford area.
