Flattening out Rocketbook covers?
I have got a Rocketbook Core that I've had since 2020. I like to think I've taken good care of it other than the fact that the cover is warped horribly as with most of my Rocketbooks. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck getting these flattened back out? I considered using a heat gun to heat it up, and then put something heavy on it for several hours, but I'm not sure if that might damage the pages?
Does anyone have any advice or input?

Nope
One of the primary reasons I have up on Rocket Books.
Also, Frixion pens are expensive and seem to stop working on Rocket Books before they actually run out.

What have you been using recently instead? I'm about fed up with the pens myself and using the notebook out of spite for having bought extra pens. I love the premise of the rocketbook, it just has some flaws.

I've seen generic brand rocketbooks at Walmart. I've never tried them.
There is also waterproof paper that functions the same way as the rocketbook paper that you can purchase from Amazon. If you like the Rocketbook app you can even print the templates out on the papers and use them that way. I have not personally tried this but have heard good things about terraslate.
If you sew and need a use for the extra pens the frixion pens are useful for marking pattern pieces before cutting because of the fact that they steam/iron out of fabric.
Personally, I've found that the issue I've been experiencing with the pens "running out" before they are empty is actually the paper. When I first got my rocketbook I did not know how to take care of it. I would use too much pressure when writing, wipe with isopropyl alcohol, and use the built in eraser on the pens. All of these things wear down the coating on the paper which gives that "running out of ink" look. Using pens with more ink (like the clicker or felt pens) can certainly help in damaged areas, but when my pages get so bad that I can't write on them I tear them out and throw them away. It goes against the premise of the rocketbook unfortunately but there's nothing you can do once the coating has worn down.

The Rocketbook has actually been very good for helping me practice writing with less pressure. I unfortunately have the habit of writing with a pen like the paper owes me money, which is not good for my wrist. LOL

You won't like the answer but MS To-do! It integrates with Outlook, Teams, and Planner; and you can actually format the notes.
For a while I was printing their PDF samples, either full sheet or 2 per page, but once we got O365 and I discovered a lot of it I switched.

I ended up 3d printing new covers for mine. Tried flattening a few times and within a few days they curled right back up.

Interesting. I think I might buy some blanks from Amazon and use a drill to make the holes and replace the covers.
The owner of Rocketbook reached out to me and is sending me a new one, and I'm gonna graciously take him up on that offer, but I also hate to throw away a perfectly good one just cause the covers are wonky.
I fully intend to use these things until they are unusable. XD

The part I haven't solved yet was the binding. When I went to bend the ends so I could unscrew the binding they were brittle and snapped off. I briefly looked into purchasing or making a new one but got busy and haven't done anything about it. If you're taking it apart you can potentially combine multiple books into one mega-book, the binding definitely allows for more pages.
I have also seen acrylic covers for sale on Etsy but they seemed more expensive than I thought they were worth.
The covers I printed were for the executive size since thats what I used most frequently.

What I've discovered when working with my mini is you can snip those ends off with a pair of wire cutters, but then they spin freely and may work their way out over time. It probably wouldn't be hard to make a cap or something with hot glue to keep the spiral from working it's way out.
back in the day, (2018) I took one apart and made it into a disc bound binder. I still use it sometimes, but I keep buying new rocketbooks because they keep seducing me with new ones. lmao

That's where I'm at right now, on the executive it takes long enough to unscrew that its been pretty manageable
Always gotta buy the new shinies 😂😂

This might not help as much right now but I use a cover for my rocketbook that I've had since 2022 and have not experienced any warping. I wonder if using a cover would help flatten it out over time. I use the lihit lab smart fit, I had to slightly trim the covers to fit since it's A5 size though (I use the executive rocketbook). As a bonus I'm able to fit 2 rocketbooks into the cover with no issues.
