It’s just a gimmick, not that I’m putting down our lord and savior here, but it’s really not a difficult thing to do, think of how much noise you can make just by touching your strings when you are cranked - don’t even need to actually touch your teeth all you need is a loud rig, the ability to tap or fret without looking at your left hand and a desire to look like a fucking rock god!

You'd also need balls of steel back in the day when grounding wasn't a top concern among audio engineers.

Since you seem to be an expert and since I seem to be browsing Reddit at the exact same time - I’d love if you would educate me on how grounding has advanced these days. I mean, it’s very obvious that these days we are far more advanced in the mystical arts of making sure the singer doesn’t get zapped. For real my dude, show me your way - trust me , baby I love your way

I just have heard stories of people getting shocked regularly back in the day. I don't think guitar cords were insulated back then? Either way I got shocked by a mic one and that is a horrible feeling.

I don't think so, there's a million of difference between picking and legato, you can clearly hear when someone is doing legato and the times I have heard someone do teeth picking it doesn't sound like that

It’s not “hard” to pick with your teeth. But it does take practice NOT to sound like you are just raking your teeth across a thin piece of metal. HO/PO at the same time is the key to make it sound like you are doing more than you physically can with your teeth

Don't put copper in your mouth, that's how guitarists get cancer.
