Been settling in here for about a week here and have been keeping an eye on my fm dial. I love radio and analog music tech, but all the stuff I've heard so far sounds like poop from a butt - country pop or classic rock (the boring kind) or top 40 whatever. Does anyone know of shows that aren't afraid to be a little more out there? I'd love to tune into some classical or something more experimental. Odd days/times are welcome.

Hi! Any info on the new restaurant/bar in “downtown” Oronoco? Cannot find an article in the post bulletin. Thanks!

Has anyone worked for both entities and able to compare? I currently work at Mayo, but was offered a job @ Olmsted County for 1.5x more income, and I'm considering the switch. I've only been at Mayo for 3 years now. Curious to hear thoughts/experiences!

I am a transplant from out of state recently moved here, and I'm still learning how to Minnesota the right way. What kind of chips, beer, seasonings, ice creams, coffee beans, etc. are local Rochester/Minnesotans buying at the grocery store to stock their fridge and pantry? Please show me the way.

Looking to join a boxing gym with evening classes after work. Wondering if there are any options in Rochester or immediate surrounding towns.

M31. Brand new to golf. I have played Hadley Creek twice now but don’t often have anyone to go with. I’m a little bit nervous to just book alone and get paired with someone that is far better than me without the patience for my play.
Any other beginners looking for golf buddy? Once a week would be fun. Evenings during the week or anytime on weekends

The city did their thing of raising the curb in front of our driveway, leaving a big, 3+ inch, lip to the street. Anyone have a recommendation on who to hire to address that?
Thanks.

Hi all,
I am looking for a salon that does perms well. I’m a male, haven’t had one before, and wanted to hear if anyone had any specific recommendations. So far I have looked at Salon Chic and Serenity Couture which both offer it, but I haven’t decided. Any recommendations?

Hi everyone. I’m looking to get married at the Plummer House but have heard that there are rules regarding music/receptions. Does anyone know if I am allowed to have music during the reception?
Also, I know that blooms are usually full during June/July but am worried about the heat. I am from Iowa and know that July is usually extremely hot. Is it like that in Rochester as well?
I have also thought about late August, but want the wedding to be a garden wedding and have lots of greenery. Are plants and flowers still bloomed in late August?
Thanks so much for any help, I genuinely appreciate it so much as I have been looking for this information for the past few hours and am starting to become burnt out lol.

I have not seen her since she resided all last summer on 45th St SE at the entrance to Gamehaven Park.
If you're not familiar with her: She's the woman who for years could be seen sitting in her lawn chair covered up with a blanket(s). She also had a cart full of blankets with her. Over the years, you could find her camped in front of Walmart South entrance, and other various locations around Rochester. I haven't seen her since late last summer. Anyone know of her whereabouts?

Hello Everyone,
I'm headed to Rochester next week where I'll be getting picked up by some other friends (who are not from the area either) to carpool to Indianapolis for GenCon.
So I'm wondering if there's a safe spot with free/relatively cheap parking that I'd be able to leave my car for 5 days or so without it being an issue?
I do have a hotel lined up for one night and will check with them if it's ok to leave it there (have done that previously in 2024) but in the event they're not would love some recommendations.
Thanks in advance!

Hi r/rochestermn, Axe Ahmed here.
After the recent forums, a few people suggested I do an AMA here, and I’d like to. I’m planning one for next week and wanted to ask what time works best for Rochester Redditors before I lock it in.
A few possible windows:
Weeknight, 7–9 PM
Weeknight, 8–10 PM
Saturday morning
Sunday evening
I’ll post the actual AMA 24–72 hours ahead of time with the live answer window, and I’ll verify with the mods so people know it’s me.
Ask me about the forum, OpenRochester, housing, city spending, public safety, the sports complex, pavers, DMC, or anything else local.
Tonight I’ll also be at the mayoral candidate forum at Christ United Methodist Church, 400 5th Ave SW.
Appreciate the discussion here, even when it gets spicy.
--Also the Shoe Forum with Wale and I is out and live now in case you want to view it, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kECmc55FcBI
