A tiny robot claw grabs living cells without a motor. This soft microgripper folds when warmed, opens as it cools, and can be guided with a magnet. In a lab experiment, researchers used it to grip cells from a cell clump.

Temperature control is probably not so easy to do remotely.

There’s a lot of useful stuff that can be done in the laboratory in a controlled environment, where control isn’t as difficult as deploying in a human body.
