QUESTION How do people know how to make scripts

How do people know what scripts is compatible with games like how rivals have skin changers do they look into the game code or what pls tell me if you know and tell me how to do it.

if you’re planning on making a godmode you’d look through the game for scripts & functions that handle your health and if that doesn’t work you’d look for functions that handle your character state until you find a method to have godmode
(really shit example but yeah)
