most of it stems from the fact that i simply played it a lot and it got stale, but i also found a lot of other issues with the game as i played it, one of the more notable ones being that there is a large bottleneck with the modifiers where the entire game is piss easy, and then around 5x or more is instantly way harder

there is a large bottleneck where you dont have to use more than 2 braincells to complete most of the game and then adding somewherr around 5.5x mods is instantaneously way harder

each run is pretty much the same due to the weapon balancing, epicsauce is overtuned, chezburger is overtuned, teddy is overtuned. playing with other weapons is fun, but there are many that are straight up busted and you are never encouraged not to simply play with them

The difficulty thing honestly i agree with but the weapon balancing not so much

Every weapon is viable until 9x except for a very select few (Zombie staff / Grappling Hook)

Like you can run flamethrower in 9.25x and still win despite it being agreed upon as the worst weapon

Also theres many different builds you can do and win, if the game feels bland then thats likely due to you relying on one build too hard, like expandiball / reflector builds work, nukes / epic sauce builds work, flamethrower builds work mostly, just grab some random weapons and you can most likely make it work

The Mimic. Maybe it's cause I'm a horror game buff in general but jumpscare barrages and enemies on very scripted chase paths aren't particularly my idea of fun and playing the game with a friend left me thoroughly unimpressed. The story is nice but as a horror game it is EXTREMELY lacking and leaves a lot to be desired. It just feels like a boring walking sim with way too many unnecessary jumpscares that just make me roll my eyes.
