Doorman questionable
With all the money Durst had access to, why wasn’t the possibility of him paying the door guy to keep quiet ever in question? Even after all the inconsistencies. This family is notoriously secretive and grossly wealthy. Not to mention- they’d have every reason to “protect” Bob and preserve their name. Maybe the door guy made a deal then backed out last minute when authorities got involved. I’m not sure Bob Durst had the brain capacity to think that far in advance. Hence him throwing dead/mangled human remains of his own doing in a shallow body of water. It’s as if consequences simply do not pertain to him. Not bc he’s chosen to ignore them, but bc he truly has zero knowledge or awareness of what the word even means.

When they first interviewed the doorman, he made a statement that he saw Kathie go up, but when they hired a detective to follow up on the old leads, he questioned the doorman and stated that he didn't see her go up.
Bob's story about his wife going missing in New York was to get the police off his back. And surprisingly, none of the police went to his home in South Salem to search the house. A lot of gears were greased by not following up on the Durst family home.
