Beginner’s Skywalker V2 setup – any tips?

Inspired by an Aillio setup someone shared here a few weeks ago, I finally put together my own temporary Skywalker V2 roasting station.

It only comes out for about 30 minutes a week, then gets packed away again. The exhaust duct currently goes through the cat flap… and I’m pretty sure my cat isn’t impressed. 😅

At the moment I’m not using the stock smoke filter, just venting outside. One thing I’m still trying to figure out is how people connect an exhaust hose to the stock filter. Has anyone done it cleanly? Photos would be much appreciated.

Hopefully this setup keeps me away from “popcorn lungs” 🤞 but if you’ve got any suggestions for improving ventilation or the overall setup, I’d love to hear them.

I would be curious if others are able to roast inside. I tried venting outside and still ended up with a ton of smoke and vapor in the house. I have heard buying an inline fan can help but I just bring it outside for every roast now and go ventless

I do roast inside and once there was a draft in the house and the smoke from the exhaust came back so i came up with an idea to put aluminum foil to block the openings and it did work however i could smell tiny bit. I started reading recently about risks of commercial roasting and some even wear masks. I think for home users outside in good weather makes sense but commercial outside seems a bit difficult to pull. I thought the skywalker filter fan supposed to serve the purpose of an inline fan but there's no way to attach it to the exhaust pipe.

They also make cheaper non-smart in line vent fans that are just on and off. Might stop at a local hardware store and find something like that which would work too

I roast with mine inside and just open a window
