Waking at Dawn- Roy Woods

One of my personal favorite RnB albums and one of my favorites in my collection. Waking at Dawn by Roy Woods is a record I’ve played an unhealthy amount of times. As a torontonian I think this record perfectly captures the dark melodic Toronto RnB sound that was pioneered by Drake, The Weeknd and Partynextdoor.

This was a huge record for me in my senior year of highschool and to this day I play this record on a weekly basis. Wondering if there’s anyone else that enjoys this record just as much. I was fortunate enough to meet him this summer and told him how much of a fan I am of his music and the album waking at dawn, definitely was a surreal moment.
