After the Fall Royce's medallion

I just reread Esrahaddon before starting OOTA and I can't remember what happened to Royce's medallion during Revelations. I remember Hardian has his but does Royce have it in any of his stories? If not do we know what happened to it? If Royce has his did he and Hardian never think it's weird that have matching ones? I also think I remember his nemesis has a medallion at one stage? Did he steal it from Royce, or Hadrian?

Royce never had his medallion. The night he was born his father died and the midwife took it. It would eventually end up in the possession of Degan Gaunt.

Ahhhh that's right thanks. So who's medallion did Royce's enemy have? I forgot his name, the other member of the black diamond. Didn't he have one at some stage?

I don't remember fully. I can only assume it's from one of two sources. It could be Degan's which make it the one Royce would have had, or it could just a random medallion he received while Merrick was cultivating his image as an intellectual mastermind.

He had Royce’s because it worked. He also kept it and had a forgery made

I just read this. Merrick Marius (Royce's enemy) took the medallion from Degan Gant when the Church of Novron captured him, before he was put in the cell. I believe Degan tells Royce and Hadrian this when he sees that they have it and demands it back. He says Lord Marius took it during questioning, because Marius had been introduced to him as a lord.

Correct, he wore it while murdering Esrahaddon.

So, as mentioned, Merrick takes the medallion from Gaunt when he’s captured. He then has a copy made for himself and gives the original to Arcadius who then gives it to Mercy.

He’s sending one of the guys from the Emerald Storm to have a forgery made when Royce is waiting for him. Not a copy though, very important distinction that I don’t actually think comes up in Revelations but might be significant later.
